PPK any good?

I've never corresponded with anyone who that much trouble with the PP or PPK if built in Germany (France).

Were they all German models? And you had problems with all of them?

I guess I just got lucky on my first purchase. My '68 PPK functions 100% and is quite accurate out to 15 yards. Probably farther than that, but I have never tried.

I had a 1929 PP, one of the first produced that was a tack driver and never gave me any trouble.

I was fortunate to inherit some pre- war built war sovineers. I just love to take them apart and enjoy the typical German overengineering. they do kick though. My Kel-Tec p 32 has less recoil.

Herr Walther,

Some German, perhaps a 30-50 Lots of French, lots and lots... And lots of Americans too. I had the best luck with PP .22s after some work.

However I've had lots of friends who LOVED the guns they bought from me and didn't mind a few shenanigans as far as accuracy and reliability are concerned. It is not that the Walthers are bad guns. I've also sold Makarovs; if they were not consistent in accuracy or if they even almost failed to fire or chamber or eject properly. It's just the way I am -- I'm quite Persnickety with guns, not with other things.

Awesome weapon.

I have the Interarms IMPORT (kinda like Austria/Smyrna) It is the most accurate .380 I have ever shot, and I've shot plenty.

I can shoot D cell batteries at 15 yards with mine. has plenty of safety features...De-cocker, Chambered round indicator, firing pin block.

If you have big hands, and let the web of your hand ride too high, the slide can bite you, But it has never happened to me.And they are a little pricey for a .380.

I have had mine for more than 6 years now, and have NEVER had a FTF, FTE.

What more can I say except that I will never get rid of this gun....It is a keeper !!! :)

I have to agree that the Makarov is the perfect Walther and I own several of both makes. The Marakrov is more reliable and more accurate but the Walthers have that special something that even the East German Makarovs don't seem to have. There is nothing in a mid sized semi auto that has the inherrent beauty of a Walther PPKs that I have found. So I guess I am doomed to own both Walthers and Maks, but that's ok too. :)
