Power Corrupts Absolutely

Sick Pups.

We spent all those Tax Payer Dollars on Sensetivity Training for you, No Smokong Adds, ect. ect., and all you still want to do is go out and..and...sh-sho...shoot guns! How evil.

The Doctor will now increase your medications...maybe that will help.

I'd go with the snubnose 500. Lighter and easier to conceal than the 4" 500.

I assume that’s the 500ES Model, hard to find but yes, that would be the ticket if you could get one for a decent price. Very nice revolver Sharpsdressed Man. I think I will keep looking, gunshow next week, ya never know what you may find.

I feel your pain Seamen, my wife and I part ways when it comes to Firearms, she’s British, a liberal and hates guns; however, she does like our pine gun cabinet stuffed with rifles and shotguns, my Grandfather made it over 80 years ago.

I’m trying to collect one of all the major handgun calibers .380 upwards, there are few I’m leaving off for the simple reason they don’t appeal to me, last on my list is .45 ACP and .500 S&W mag. After that I want to collect all of S&W 3rd generation automatics. It’s a life’s work that hopefully I will finish just before I die, only to pass them along to my children who will most likely keep what they want and sell the rest.

The psychology of Collecting is very interesting, I had a Buddy in the Service who collected artificial Pigs… that’s right Pigs, plastic, paper, cloth, china, tin, you name it, he had a special room floor to ceiling with shelves of pigs, unbelievable.

Perhaps some long guns or pistols with a higher rate of fire could help with the symptoms? Now to rid yourself of the actual disease, I'm not certain there is an effective cure.

You may contact the S&W Performance Center to inquire about an experimental treatment.

S&W made a few batches of the short barreled 500 without the ES box and stuff, and they were even sold out through CDNN a few years ago, for very low bucks, along with the 460 snubbie. They are out there, just with black grips and swivel stud. I'm sure there are some buyers that fired them a few times, and immediately put them back on the market.

The turning of the calendar will solve your problem eventually. First that 500 will start to hurt too much to take it to the range, then the magnums will begin to feel the same and be left behind. Add in some injuries from a vigorous life, that ache even when you aren't shooting, and you will eventually find yourself shooting 38 wadcutters and 22LRs.

I speak from experience. I just sold 3 44 Magnums for this very reason.

Perhaps I should seek help?

help shmelp! those doctors are full of.........themselves

as long as you don't break any laws knock yourself out!

I still shoot .44 Mag and a few other big guns, yeah my hands hurt after but its a good hurt.

the worst thing I've ever done was fell a few trees behind the target.

welcome to the club (or group)

Why settle for a wimp like the 500 S&W. Go ahead and move up to the big boy. The American Derringer in 45-70.

But go back and get the quote right.
"Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely."
Lord Acton

Didn't want to use the whole thing in the subject line so I just used the last three words, sorry for the forum faux pas orionengnr won't let it happen again:rolleyes:

If I went to my doctor for help. He would help alright. He would help me shoot up all of the ammo. One of his faves is .475 Linbaugh.

My guess is that you've just continued to get better with recoil management as your shooting skills have improved. I say keep it up. :D

My guess is that you've just continued to get better with recoil management as your shooting skills have improved.

There’s some definite truth to that, my 329NG kicks like a mule with full on .44mag hunting loads, but I’ve learned to ride the recoil so to speak, makes shooting .44 specials feel almost like a tame .357… almost…

Just can’t seem to get enough of that power. Went to a gun show yesterday did not see one .500 S&W, pity.
