Power Corrupts Absolutely

I’ve been shooting all my life; retired military, armory/range defense contractor, government weapons handler etc… so I’m not new to this way of life in the least; however, over the years I’ve steadily increased my civilian power consumption. For years I was happy with 9mm, content to burn-it along with a trusty nine, years later it .357 Mag, then 40 S&W, next 10mm followed by .44 special, on to the .44mag NOW I’m looking at 4 inch barrel X frame.500 S&W Mag! Perhaps I should seek help?

It's too late for you. In your case, the disease has obviously metastacized out of control. You will know the end is near when you have five or more holsters each gun. Tough break, dude. All you can do now is suck it up like a man and go down shooting.

Nah, just keep in mind that if your personal arms race continues at its current rate, I think you might need to get a stamp for the howitzer in your near future:D

Have been a gun/collector/shooter since the age of 4. My best friend and I have developed a code when in the company of our wive's friends, a 99% liberal peer group. Since we have been instructed that at no time can we pollute conversations with gun talk, we have over the years used a cover code...that we are collecting dolls and doll-houses.

Of course we live in fear of the day when a real doll collector will appear on the scene and query our latest acquisition of HK, Sig-Sauer, S&W, Walther, etc, dolls.

You sound like you need some help with a reloading, and lead casting set up. Though there is no cure for it. The next thing you know you are cruising tire shops, and salvage yards for wheel weights, and putting out word to any friends that have family or friends that are plumbers, tireshop employees, or those who work around x-ray equipment to save you the foils.

It starts small and leads to range memberships, reloading gear, casting equipment, gun purchases, and lots of rounds expended. My doctor says the disorder is not curable, though shooting can temporarily relieve the symptoms. He then asked me for some of my cast lead semiwadcutter .45 ACP ammo that his guns shoot so well. In short he said to pass the ammo.:D

Sounds completely normal to me--The females have their 'shoe' thing and we have our hobbies as well.

Post pics if you get that .500 (I have always thought about one as well just because...).

Wow--After looking at the price, I think I will continue to dream.

-Cheers

Sounds perfectly fine to me, or would you rather be collecting dolls?

Depends on the Dolls....

I'd go with the snubnose 500. Lighter and easier to conceal than the 4" 500. Just handload it to where you like it. :D

Not necessary to seek help. This condition is simple to self medicate for. Just use your guns to consume large quantities of ammunition in as many different calibers as you can find. As stated before, there is no cure but the outlined medication protocol will control the symptoms very well.

That .500 S&W revolver is beautiful as well as powerful.

Wow. Really wish I could justify the costs as it's exorbitant (at least for me).

Don't know why, but every now and then they come up for a good price (sometimes hundreds less than dealer price). And, they are hardly used.:D Don't give up!

Indeed--I will put this near the top of my Christmas list and hope that Santa can mediate a good price!:)
