Powders? 30-06 and the 178g eld-x

You have 1/12 or 1/10 twist?
1:10, and while I am sure they can be had in other twist rates, I would not personally get one in anything but 1:10.

Based on Bergers stability calculator, as long as I keep the bullet above 1950FPS at the muzzle, it should be comfortably stable.

And according to Hornady's ballistic calculator, if I can keep the muzzle velocity at or above 2700fps, I should be supersonic out to and maybe a little past 1200yds.

Hoping to get to a store with powder today, will see what i can get my hands on. Hunter will probably be my first choice. H4350 my 2nd.
H4350 is very, very temp stable. Ramshot Hunter is not. I started using Hunter when H4350 was unobtainable, but H4350 is by far the better powder. And H4350 is available now.

180gr @2700fps from a 24" barrel has been my 30-06 load since the 60's.

Looking good on paper, but i never hear a lot about i or how it performed. Whats wrong with it? Bad sd/es?
It's a double-base spherical powder. It doesn't have the stability of the extruded powders.
If you feel that you need absolute speed, SP is the way to di it with the 30-06.
