Powder Storage

I got 32 pounds of surplus pull down bulk 4895 from High Power 2000 ~ 2001 in 8 pound white jugs. A mouse gnawed through one of the jugs and it was leaking powder on the rug in a closet. I recognized his pellets mixed with the grains.
He did not come back. I hope he got heartburn.

Maybe the mouse was sneaking off with some powder to reload some 2.7mm Kolibri so he could run the sewers and strike fear into the hearts of the other mice in the neighborhood.

I would worry more about possible condensation in a freezer than I would about a few weeks of hotter weather a year. I'm not trying to store my powder 30+ years...my oldest is maybe 10 years. Granted I don't live in a hot climate either.

To expand on this observation ^^^^^^^

Although my temps rarely exceed 100 degrees, living in Florida on a saltwater marsh, I can say with certainty anything chilled and then exposed to the hot and humid air will absolutely draw moisture/condensation. From a practical use standpoint, I just don't see myself remembering to pull my selected powder from the refer/fridge two or three hours before I'm going to use it.

All that said, I do have a single surface rusted tin of DuPont Hi-Skor 700X, date code: "P80APR22B" that will deserve careful inspection before use. But I don't intend to go and reopen it just to see. (why expose it to the humidity for no good reason?)

MG,

The Vihtavuori N3xx series is single-based. N320 isn't much faster than Bullseye and you can usually find an equivalent load of it that's not too far from the charge weight you would use with Bullseye.
