Powder for 7 mm Remington mag

If the velocity is important, he needs to shoot over a decent chronograph...published velocities are hard to match with your rifle at your range...

Some G.I surplus (50 cal pulled) powder still available in the market place. WC-857 or WC-860 would work well for a 7-Mag loadings. Cheaper too than any brand name canister powder is. By about 1/2 the price.

Powder doesn't seem to be an issue but the 9 1/2 primers are. I found one box of a 100 at bass pro. None since.

The 62 grains of IMR under 140 gr Nosler BT seem to be doing well as my hunting load

Husband loves it. He's concerned groups may open up in colder weather but he's going to give it a shot. Think he loaded up ten more and shot all the factory ammo out this weekend for the brass. Nosler says speed is 3020 but chrono of friends says 2915 out of his 26 inch barrell. Trying to find energy levels from 100 to 500.

Which IMR powder you using?

That seems a bit slow. I think my low end load runs about 2950 my high end runs around 3200. Using a 139gr with IMR 4350.

IMR 4831. Nosler shows most accurate load at 62 gr using their 140 gr bt. Have room to speed it up but husband thinks it's ok for up to 300. He zeroed it in 2.5 high at a hundred. He's been using that rifle and 150 Sierra Game Kings for twenty years but he says the factory groups won't touch the reloads. There is room to move on up. We are very ethical and he won't shoot if he thinks it isn't going to go down. He will go try at all of his ranges he feels comfortable with which 500 is his max. Average 200-300 hunting power line right of ways.

Hooligan. I'm using 3.29. Anything tad longer doesn't fit in my ADL magazine. This is my hunting rifle. Throats decent on this so I can go 3.312 which just gets me off the rifling but I would have to single feed. I just followed Noslers guide from the web. Everyone said I should use reloader 20 but this IMR powder is working great so far. I don't know how to calculate the energy at that speed and bullet weight. I have room to go up and may try 5 at 1.5 grains from max just to see if groups still hold. Not precision as there is no target but been ringing 12 inch gong at 300 with it. Going to set some targets up at hunting club in about a month at 200 and 300 just to see groups. 26 inch barrell on Rem 700 adl. Older model. It's always been a real shooter but not like the reloads do.

If it works, no need to change it up. I guarantee that whatever game you shoot isn't going to wonder if that bullet was going 2900fps or 3100fps. Just as long as it's accurate.
