Possible new purchase

x2 on the Ruger SR45. Grabagun has them in stainless for $369 right now. Large frame great quality and a fantastic trigger. What's not to like?

Get the SAR K2 .45. Crazy not to at that price. It's almost more than I can resist. Even though I have a lack of funds and a strong desire to stick with my plan for a 10mm Witness, I have a real hard time not clicking the buy button. EAA is dumping the SAR line and a new importer will be selling them soon. Don't think the price will be anywhere near as low as it is now. I will regret not buying one. If you want a .45 Don't you regret it too. Don't wait too long either.

sr9 sr45

Both the SR9 & SR45 are great guns and with a little looking around both are in the $400 range. BOTH great gun well made.

If not for CCW then what? Home gun, range gun? The 9mm ammo is cheaper than the .45 by about $12 per box of 100. So if your going to it a lot, the 9mm is going to save you... actually thats not quite true. Your still going to spend the money but your going to get more shooting with tge 9mm vs .45 for the same money.

As for the 9mm vs .45 I'm not going to say one is better than the other. Just that with current self defence ammo both rounds are able to do the job.

another vote for Tri-Star. I love my t100. only 320-350$ and runs amazing. available at academy sports if you have one local.

and if you want a carry gun, the s&w shield is also in the sub 400$ range

Right now Bud's has the outstanding SP2022, stainless, with night-sights, for around $400. Considering the non-stainless, non-night-sights version goes for $450-500 regularly, it's a crazy deal. Snagged one myself.

Stoeger Cougar. Great gun. Good price. Great reviews. Same as the original Beretta but now made in Turkey. Steel slide. Aluminum frame.

All the Best,
D. White

Good call, I forgot the Cougar. I own the Beretta-branded one and my friend bought the Stoeger-branded one. The quality of the finish of the Beretta-branded one is 5-10% better. There is zero difference in fit, build quality, or reliability. The Stoeger is a heck of a buy at $400.

Check out Bud's Gun shop online: I got a Turkish 45 Colt 1911 clone for $399 and it is as good as any non $1000 1911 that I've ever shot. The Canik looks good too. I think they have a Citidal 1911 in 9mm for $299. The Tokarev 70A in 9mm is a well-proven and dependable design for right around $200.

I actually ordered an EAA Witness in 9mm that'll be here Monday, if it turns out to be as good as the reviews, I'll be ordering the 45 conversion kit soon after.

I'd look for a good used CZ 75B. My preference is glossy blue. They are quite nice for the price. Just think, you don't really want a plastic fantastic gift as an anniversary present, do you? Get something that will last as long as the diamond ring you gave your bride when you got engaged.

. Actually kinda not that way..

SAR went out on it's own and Tanfoglio (maker of the Witness) needs someone to fill the gap and make guns for them. SAR was building guns under contract for Tanfoglio. EAA is just the Importer as mentioned.

SAR has a great reputation and even makes a reliable "witness" in Polymer called the Sar B6P. in 9mm and can be had for $300 in most places. ($301 at buds)

XD9 NIB right now, is about $400. I would buy that.

IMHO, the XD45 is good too, but it is closer to $500 nib.

XD's exceed Glock's and M&P's out of the box due to superior trigger pull and better sights. It is really ready to go when you open the box.
