Pocket pistol options: 380, 9mm, 40

Same link ^ I put in the initial post.
Luckygunner didn't calibrate the gel an important step if you're going to use it for a comparison.

There are other's that do show that the better 380s meet the minimum FBI threshold, but that is "minimum" not optimum in Urey's original HWFE he states

"While penetration up to 18 inches is preferable, a handgun bullet MUST reliably penetrate 12 inches of soft body tissue at a minimum, regardless of whether it expands or not."

Non-CNS or critical organ hits aren't likely to do much .45 or .380.
Nonsense! NOBODY wants to have a painful, bleeding hole in their body regardless if it's diameter is .35, or .45!

Many posts can be judged as nonsense without context. Nobody wants to be poked with a stick either. The issue is what is necessary to stop an attack. For many would-be attackers just the threat of a violent response is enough. For a committed attacker or one under the influence, incapacitation may be required. A painful, bleeding hole is not a guarantee of that. Interrupting the CNS, or severe loss of blood are the only reliable ways of stopping the attack using a handgun. The size of the hole is not nearly as important as the location.
