From those of you who pocket carry, I am looking for recommendations on brands/models of pocket holsters for S&W Airweight/Airlite J Frame revolvers. Thanks for your help.

Pocket holsters...

Kramer Leather makes a very nice molded pocket holster for J Frames.

Also, Bianchi makes a pocket holster called the Nemesis that is very inexpensive. It has a rebbery outside surface that holds it in your pocket when the gun is drawn. I don't have a web address that shows the Nemesis but you should be able to do a seach on the web if you want to see one.

I've also heard a lot of TFLers mention the Galco pocket holster. Never seen one but Galco is a good brand.

I gave up on finding the pocket holster I wanted and made my own. Got a $12 billfold at the local wally world, put a thick piece of leather in one side, sewed the whole thing up and now I'm happy. Completely conceals the shape of the gun.

I have two, both from Unlce Mike's from the sidekick series. The first one is their "official" pocket holster for J frames. The second one is made from their IWB holster. All I did was take off the clip the holds the holster on your pants. The reason I did this is because I discovered that depending on the pants and shape of the pocket sometimes one holster works better than the other and vice versa.

I'm quite happy with the inexpensive stiff leather rough-out holster I got from DeSantis. I like stiff pocket holsters better for revos because they minimize apparent bulges better for me.

Im working on a SoftSided Pocket holster for 5 shots. It has the switchable front flap for strong/weak hand pocket carry. Its suede side out for better grip/pocket retention, sight rail and a little support built in so it wont "settle" or lose its shape, like so many do. Ill let you all see when its done. Shoot well

I have this one, in "roughout", and love it:

Save yourself several dollars and get an Uncle Mike's. I carry my Taurus 85UL in mine. Great little holster, great LITTLE price. hpg:cool:

I have carried several pocket holsters by Sam Andrews. I find his work impeccable, functional, and the gun does not print as with some other holsters less skillfully made. I am a big fan of wood grips also, finding that for me, they pull from the pocket without sticking like rubber ones do. A gun without a hammer spur is a plus also.

My vote goes for the Kramer pocket holster. Excellent for my 442 and is completely concealed in my front pocket.

Uncle Mike's

Having made a career out of being cheap, I decided, before I dumped a ton on a custom leather holster, that I would try an Uncle Mike's soft flexible fabric pocket holster. Well, that was years ago and I'm still toting ALL of my pocket pistols in a $12 Uncle Mike's. Why do I like them? Cheap, very light, soft, flexible, comfortable, and durable. If one falls apart (hasn't happened yet) I just re-order!

I carried a 642 in a galco for a couple of years and it wore the finish off the frame and frosted cylinder. Thinking that I had the wrong size holster, I bought another galco from the factory to be sure that I got the right size. In two years that one has left a new 442 with an appearance that looks like it has mange.

I think that I have finally learned my lesson. I am using an Uncle Mikes/Butler Creek, whatever. It can't hurt my 442 much more at 1/4th the cost.

I am however interested in user reports from the folks that own the kramer. I have had excellent results with kramer over the years and they are good folks to deal with.

Does anyone with 3-4 years good experience with a kramer pocket holster?
