Pocket carry P32 vs P3AT

I have no problem with my 100% reliable P32's. They are easy to grip with my big mitts and light weight so easy to carry clipped on my jean pocket. They do not feel like a toy to me. Aint pretty like my little Desert Eagle Micro 380.but the P32 are effective.

But this is just my opinion, I have alot of guns.

Neither, grab a Star Firestar in 9mm,
teensyest 9mm I ever ran across, but shoots great :D

The .32acp I actually carry on occasion, everyone bags on,
but it's been perfectly reliable since I figured out which ammo to use...
and since the Mozambique drill is the training method of choice,
doubt there will be anyone to fuss negatively afterwards.

Whatever you choose, TRAIN WELL with it.
Someone who goes to the range and practices is going to be far more effective
than the joker who buys it, shoots it once, and then carries it for years
and might fire it once a year at the range after that.

That old guy with an old gun he's been training with monthly/quarterly for 20+ years
is usually the one that will place his bullets properly, no matter the stress.
Much of that training will transfer over to any newer gun that is bought,
as long as the training regimine is continued...

While the Firestar is pretty small, it's unbelievably heavy.
The Keltec PF9 is smaller in every dimension and MUCH lighter.
I agree with your remarks on training!

Come on now. We have been down this road enough times to know that the correct answer is obvious...

One of each! :)

After ~200 rounds in an LCP and another ~150 rounds Ina bodyguard my gf and I could've kept going all day. I'd argue that felt recoil is about the same as my M&Pc in 9mm.

Yea I dont find the recoil bad at all on my LCP. I could easily shoot several hundred rounds through it no problem. I think hand size really plays a part in recoil of these smaller guns.

We all age differently. Thus some of us who used to thrive on thumper guns find out it just not so much fun any more and they are hard on the old bones. ;)

For me, with standard ammo, the difference in recoil was insignificant. I got the P3AT as soon as it came out and used it for many years replacing the P32. Recently switched to the PF9 and sold off all of the .32 and .380 related stuff.

In the summer, I wear the Cabela's trail hiker shorts or the 5.11 shorts that have a pocket on top of a pocket. With a Big Skinny wallet in the front pocket, the PF9 and Kahr PM9s disappear behind it in the inner pocket. Works for me.

They are both wonderful CC guns. Both are generally very reliable. WARNING: Work with your gun. Limp-Wrist-ing can be a problem. Whichever gun you prefer to carry, learn to Non-Limp-Wrist when shooting it. Practice over and over with whatever gun you choose to carry.

I bought a P3AT about two weeks ago without knowing anything about them. It was barely used from a guy I work with.

I've put about a box of PMC FMJ's through it, and a couple hundred of my reloads with lead round nose through it. Not a single malfunction. Recoil isn't an issue to me, and as I develop better grip and trigger technique, I'm pleased to see how it shoots.

I've been plinking at stuff out at 25 yards, and already know I could shoot the tits off an attacker at self defense range.

Only issue for me is a fat trigger finger. Wish the trigger guard was a little more roomy. jd

id like another P32 some day, but yeah the "toy" feel of the gun isn't inspiring.
A bit off topic, but kel-Tec related.
I got PMR30 a couple weeks ago. Talk about "toy" feel. But oh what a fun toy!!!:D
I have no issue with Kel-Tec firearms. After a good cleaning, and lube my P32 has been flawless. I did pick the Ruger Elsea Pea over the P3AT mostly on name recognition at the time. But it was also a bit more "refined" in my opinion.
The P32 would not be a particularly bad choice for a pocket gun. But if the bit more recoil of a 380 isn't an issue, the P3AT would be a better choice in my mind.

SEECAMP 32
It started the mouse gun rage .With the 25acp .then 32 acp, then the 380 acp.
What is your life worth .
Mine is with the SEECAMP 32 :D

[My P32 is a frequent carry companion.

Can you verify the reliability of the cavitator rounds in the P32? (maybe another thread)? Mine rimlocked frequently with HP ammo. FMJ rounds work fine, though. Rimlock happens in .32s more often with HP because those are shorter rounds. How does the Cavitator's length compare to .32 HP and FMJ.

Off the topic, I know, but hate for you to buy a preferred gun and "solid performer" ammo and they don't work well together./I]

I have posted this information several times. I use KelTec's "Rimlock Eliminator" kit and carry Silvertips with no rim lock problems.

If you don't use this kit, just load a HP in the tube and top round in the magazine. Load the rest of the magazine with regular ball (FMJ) ammo.

My P32 has never malfunctioned and actually shoots Buffalo Bore hard cast comfortably ( can not say this for my "classy" Seecamp).

Carry P32 in my pocket when hiking or fishing. Shoots great and accurate for a little mouse gun. I went with the P32 because it locks back open slide on last round.

As an aside, I was always a little doubtful of the .32 ACP. Until I saw a demonstration where a guy shot five rounds into a car door. While all rounds penetrated the sheet metal, three of the five went through and through exiting the upholstered interior side of the door. Maybe not a man-stopper, but like said here previously, its a "Get the f---- off me" gun.

my pocket piece is a 32acp naa gaurdian. 380acp is too much recoil to allow sufficient practice in a mousegun. i couldnt warm up to the keltec's plastic. all steel naa makes practice actually pleasant and free warranty upgrade turned my well worn 2nd hand piece into practically a new model.

I have (and carry) a P32, and I also have a .32 Guardian.
The NAA gun is a blowback action, while the Keltec is locked breech.
The Keltec's recoil is MUCH less than the NAA.

I had a P3AT and sold it. The trigger wasn't anything to write home about and the recoil isn't pleasant. I carry one of my Colt Mustangs if I want a .380 in the pocket. Otherwise I settled on a Kahr PM9 as a BUG, my primary piece in warm weather or if in need of deep concealment. It's double action only with a trigger smooth as silk. Try one, I think you'll enjoy it. :D
