Three solutions
The movement of the swaying object absolutely 100% positively causes wear on your joints which have to compensate for the shifting weight.
FACT: Constant wear and tear cause more problems to the human joints than casual heavy strain.
SOLUTIONS:
1- Make sure your gun is snug against your body. Explore all the holsters out there, I've seen ones that offer elastic bands that wrap around the waist. One of these might be perfect for you.
2- Strengthen your stomach and back muscles... Do some kind of strengthening exercises several times a week for several minutes a day. Your back and stomach are the most important muscles to stabilize excess weight on your torso.
3- If possible, carry a thinner, lighter weapon. Lighter is obvious, but also a thinner weapon will stay snugger to your body and cause less physical stress.
God bless and stay safe!
