PMR 30's in stock

Found them in stock on KyGunCo's website while completing my nightly gun shopping and drooling session. They are going for $449 cash.

$449 is what I had to pay for mine, several months ago -- and I had to drive halfway across the state to get it. I had been on a waiting list [several of them, actually] for well over a year. But there was no charge for shipping or a separate FFL fee for the transfer when I picked it up -- it may have ALMOST paid for my gas to drive to get it.

I was never tempted to buy one of those $700 guns offered on GunBroker, etc.

This is the coolest design I have seen. Totally bizarre to anything you have ever shot. Feels like a squirt gun and is laser accurate. Beautiful light trigger, great sights, no recoil but lots of sound and muzzle flash. I can draw pictures while rapid firing the PMR30 its so accurate. 3 shots a second fast. Its no joke and could be pressed into a personal protection gun.
Winchester makes a PDX1 round for the 22mag.

Great woods/trail gun.

I've thought about something like this for my wife, but I wonder if the grip is too wide from front strap to backstrap. How do you find it?

Would like to order one but being in liberal Colorado with a 15 round mag capacity no dice. Ill have to wait

Would love one too but I am in CT and only 10 rounds are allowed so is useless to me although I really want one.

Got lucky and picked one up under msrp a couple years ago from an lgs that doesn't believe in bending over their customers.

It is a fun gun....just wish I could find .22 wmr ammo at a decent price, and in bulk.

I DID that for my wife. She's torn between wanting a gun in the house she can handle when I'm away, and being not all that interested in going to the range to practice. (I keep telling her that she's got to use it a bit to be sure she CAN use it when she needs to. She understands but doesn't understand.)

Her problem is racking slides -- I've tried many guns -- with little success. She has shot my well-tuned S&W 66, and likes the trigger, but the long DA trigger causes her to shoot patterns not groups.

She CAN rack the slide on the PMR-30 -- it's still challenge, as there isn't much to grab -- and that may not be a big issue unless there's a jam.... and I've never had one of those in mine. Recoil is negligible, the gun is light. And with 30 chances, she should be able to hit something. (The problem: its not heavy enough to use as a club or to throw at a home invader if there is a jam!!)

Now, to just get her to go to the range!!

The gun is very narrow. Like a thin single stack 1911 but plastic squirt gun feeling. its got a good safety so it can be kept racked and ready to go. Its a great choice for those that dont shoot much or are recoil shy. If you are proficient with a 9mm, you can literally cut a intruded in half with it. The rate of controllable fire is scary fast.

FYI: Put a light on the front of a PMR30 and it is a predator hunters dream gun.

Maybe you can tell by this pic how thin it is...

I've lusted after one of these since I saw them announced, have never seen a live one in a store. The real issue, I also have not seen .22mag rounds on shelves at Academy, Cabela's etc. for ages. .22lr seems to be sneaking back at high prices, but no mag. I have two guns that use that fun round, but I'm down to a box or two of ammo.

The lack of 22Mag is a valid concern. The PMR30 eats them like candy. That said, the 22mag eventually will become available. I can't recomend enough that of you can find a PMR30 for $450 or lower, BUY IT. Keltec did raise the msrp price on this gun since its introduction. You won't find another gun in this price range that will give you a bigger smile.

I was never a big fan of Keltec until I handled the PMR30 and a Sub2000 at a gun show. Both felt better than I expected. If I ever find either of these guns for MSRP or below, I'll buy them.

Sorry, when I phrased the question I meant how wide is the grip when looking at the pistol from the side.

The PMR's grip being quite thin helps negate the length of the grip somewhat. The grip on my PMR30 is roughly 1/8" longer than my 1911, and much thinner. It feels a little awkward, but if your wife can comfortable grip a 1911 the PMR shouldn't be an issue. Hope that helps.

I find these guns interesting, but I just cannot push myself to pay the price for it. My primary LGS has had one in stock for a few months now at around $450, but I don't want to put that much into a gun that would be purely for plinking.

I too would like to have one of these; but my price point is $325 used - i.e. that's the price that will get me to part with my cash for one of these.

That's a reasonable approach.

The only problem is that the only USED ones I've seen for sale were offered over the past couple of years at $200+ above the manufactuer's suggested retail price. I suspect it'll be a long time before you find many used ones, and darned few that cheap.

My biggest complaint is the cost of ammo.

But as I thought about it, i don't really know what THAT is an issue -- It costs about the same (or a bit more) to a 9mm or .45, when I'm shooting paper targets, the target doesn't care.
