Places you don't carry, but could.

I don't carry in the shower. I don't carry while sleeping in bed at night, although my 1911 is cocked & locked in my night stand and the shotgun is under the bed.

I went to California with my daughter and granddaughter in July. I won't be going back! I felt totally nude without my weapon! That won't happen again!!

I don't carry in a couple of relatives homes. One is violently opposed to firearms and anything to do with them, so my weapon gets locked in the car when I am at her house (which isn't often, thank god). The other residence is my grandmother's house. She knows I have guns and go hunting, and that I also carry a concealed weapon. She dosen't really hate guns (grampa was a hunter for several years), she just dosent want them in her house anymore. I respect her wishes, and it stays in the car while I am there.

I get the jist of what you are doing here, but you've got to know that according to the letter of the law, your wife is now carrying a concealed handgun.

Easy! My wife has a permit, but never uses it. I insisted she get one, even if she doesn't want to use it. The slide is mail order, and worthless without a frame. The frame is controlled, so if my truck is broken into, or stolen, they have a gun with a little mail order work. I won't give a criminal a gun. Therefore, the frame goes with us. It's not difficult, and it's not inconvenient, so why take chances? It takes me 6 seconds to unload and break down my XD(M) 9, and about the same to put it back together. I should take chances over 12 seconds?
