Pistols exploding

WAIT!!! Have we yet determined that this is not just a GLOCK OP trying to deflect attention away from his favorite brand?

Are you safe from this sort of thing happening as long as you are using factory-made ammo?

Something to be aware of w/ either factory or handloaded ammo, is that if you push the bullet further into the case (aka set-back), this will tend to increase the round's pressure when fired. This can occur from by repeatedly rechambering a cartridge - or simply by not handling your ammo properly.

I've never witnessed a kaboom due to set-back, but have read advisories that were issued to police departments regarding this issue. There have apparently been a few incidents of detonations occurring in service pistols, when using ammunition that was frequently rechambered.

High-quality handguns 'blow up'. It can happen with high-quality big-name LE issue ammo......
