Ruger 32 H&R Single Six "Vaquerito" - with std (XR3- Red) gripframe - blued and stainless. Same (blued) in adjustable sight 5.5", ca. 1984 - never should have sold that one. Most fun afternoon of shooting in a centerfire one can have. Enough pop so you definitely know it ain't no ".22 anything," but doesn't beat you up like prolonged shooting can even of a .38--to which it's most often compared otherwise.
Second choice: pre-lock S&W 65 Lady Smith. K Frame, 3" full shroud/lug, satin stainless. As good as a K gets IMO. Perfection in a personal SD/HD revolver and even CC'able.
Great thread in that it gives a lot of good information for future consideration. Likes and dislikes in guns are a very personal/subjective thing, but if a person "absolutely loves" a particluar firearm in a category you're thinking about, probably worth a look.
Later Ed./add - Ruger "Montado" .357 (stainless New Vaquero w/ shorter 3-1/2" bbl and Super BH hammer). Growing on me for inclusion in this thread. Cute cute gun and particularly pleasant shooting with warm .38s.
