Pistol you love

top of my list is my 686+, 4-incher with Trausch grips ... No. 2 would be my Springer Loaded 1911 ...don't carry either, but love shooting those two the most ...

My all time favorite is my Colt Trooper .357-Old Model. Next my Dan Wessons-my Model 15 Pistol Pac is my 5-in-1 gun.

For me its a toss up between two different gun's I sold long ago for reasons I dont' remember why.
First is probably my old ruger .30 carbine blackhawk and second was a S&W 422. That was a great little plinker that never gave me any trouble no matter what kind if ammo I fed it.

For me a gun I absolutely love is my Norinco 9mm. It is a Tokarev style gun. i paid $200 for it and it is one of my favorite shooters. I love a lot of guns and own a lot of guns. But this one really stands out to me.

Many years ago, when I was much thinner, the gun that fit my hand perfectly was a pre-war 9mm Luger. Hitting the bullseye was a breeze. And 30 years later, it still fits my hand, though the eyes have more trouble finding the sights.

Fav Gun

Sig P229 due to the fact it is so versitile and durable. You can shoot 3 rounds with a simple barrel change, 4rd round with barrel and mag change and then they also have a 22 conversion for it. Gives you everything you need and more in one of the most proven weapons out there.

AMT Automag III, in 30 carbine. Love the reaction at the range when I shoot it. ;) I shoot and own Glock, 1911, revolvers, but the Automag is "love". Close second is the Blackhawk - in 30 carbine, same reason.

An EAA Witness Tactical by Tanfoglio in 40 S&W. That grip is so comfortable it feels like an "Extension of the personna".

I have many hanguns, just bought a new safe to store them all. I rarely spend the big bucks, so I haven't experienced too many of the fancy expensive types. That said, these are currently my two favorites....

Without a doubt my SA 1911-A1,fits my hand like a glove, never jams and is easy to maintian,oh yeah, its so accurate it almost shoots it's self.

Ruger 32 H&R Single Six "Vaquerito" - with std (XR3- Red) gripframe - blued and stainless. Same (blued) in adjustable sight 5.5", ca. 1984 - never should have sold that one. Most fun afternoon of shooting in a centerfire one can have. Enough pop so you definitely know it ain't no ".22 anything," but doesn't beat you up like prolonged shooting can even of a .38--to which it's most often compared otherwise.

Second choice: pre-lock S&W 65 Lady Smith. K Frame, 3" full shroud/lug, satin stainless. As good as a K gets IMO. Perfection in a personal SD/HD revolver and even CC'able.

Great thread in that it gives a lot of good information for future consideration. Likes and dislikes in guns are a very personal/subjective thing, but if a person "absolutely loves" a particluar firearm in a category you're thinking about, probably worth a look.

Later Ed./add - Ruger "Montado" .357 (stainless New Vaquero w/ shorter 3-1/2" bbl and Super BH hammer). Growing on me for inclusion in this thread. Cute cute gun and particularly pleasant shooting with warm .38s.

That I currently own:

S&W Model 66 no dash. Four inch barrel. Fantastic accuracy.

S&W Model 18-3 Perfect balance, points to point of aim instinctively.

Beretta 92FS. Italian style and hand filling. !00% reliable and accurate to boot.

Ones that got away:

Ruger Single Six stainless convertible. Perfect crisp trigger and accurate to boot. Now that I have the Model 18 I don't feel the loss so badly.

S&W Model 60. The funnest gun I ever owned. Gone in a government seizure (I'm in Australia. Apparently short barrels are evil).

Colt Gold Cup. Gone in the same seizure. Apparently calibers above .38 are also evil.

As far as fit in the hand, shoots great for me: "pre-enhanced" era Colt Delta Elite.

And as a runners up: the Ruger MK series in .22lr. One can almost have too much fun with one of these!
