Shotgun for sure, although I own more handguns, I shoot more shotgun than anything else. Between clay targets in a variety of games, bird hunting, and the combination of them like pigeons, what's not to like?
BTW, I couldn't care less about tacky-cool pump guns - make mine a nice O/U

My StG.58 is probably my favorite firearm even out of tens of Walthers I own.

It's accurate, it's reliable, it's an Austrian Steyr manufactured rifle, and I built it.

Not so good in close quarters, but I hope not to be standing that close when I need it most.

I can't choose!

I love shooting pistols, they're fast and fun.

Rifles are always a good time.

I absolutely love getting the Shotguns out to bust clays.

I choose pistol because I personally find them more comfortable to hold, manipulate and keep on target. Even though I'd probably have better overall accuracy with a rifle, I just don't find it as comfortable or as fun as pistol shooting. I only own three firearms so far, and they're all pistols. (actually they are all DA revolvers, but that's a whole different question/poll;))

I kind of swing between rifle and pistol shooting. I’ll lean towards one for a few years, then slowly switch to the other. Right now it’s about even. Equal amount of trigger time between pistol and rifle. Just coming down off of rifle, so I expect a lot of time at the reloading bench with the .45acp dies staying warmed up.

Many years ago, like 25+ I shot trap and was big into shotguns. But the trap range near me closed, and my shotguns have sat idle for a long time, and even sold off a few.

The only reason I say pistols is cause that's really the only thing I shoot anymore. I LOVE to take the rifles out to 500-1000 yards but don't have a place to do it anymore, the furthest range around here 100 yards.....gets boring and not very fun for me. :(

hoyt, if you use reactive targets of small size varying positions and time pressure, 100 yards can be difficult.......

Try the "Rifle Bounce" with edge-on clay birds at 35, 50 and 100 yards, on a shot timer.....

I said rifles, because they are the most useful to me.....

Love 'em all, but got go with my shottys- Versitility with many differing types of shot, love nailing flying clays, and I'm an avid bird hunter to boot.

I have more than one of all three and enjoy shooting all of them. Can't favor one over the other. It's sort of like asking me which of my children I like best. :D

Don't have a "favorite"...

But if I could only have one for the rest of my life, it would have to be the versatility of a shotgun...

Depends on the situation of course, but I am using my pistol trying to fight my way to my shotgun if I can't get to my long weapon first......

P.S. I voted Shotgun

A few years ago it would have been shotguns hands down. Now I split my time between pistols and shotguns. I love shooting sporting clays, but it's gotten to expensive around here

I'm just addicted to shooting! I will say that after not doing one for a while I NEED to do it again. My wife just got really into shooting this last year. She loves pistols so we do a lot of pistol. But right now I'm thinking I need to do a little trap shooting again! And I'll try to get in some rifle time this weekend. My current favorite pistol is a TC Contender, breach action long barrel and a rifle round in a scoped, bipod'ed pistol! That's as close as I can get to combining all three....:D

I daily carry pistol for my self defence purpose, so loved pistol a lot.

I have shotgun for my home defence, shotgun is best for home defence due to its stopping power, so also love shotgun because my priority is to save my family from bad accidents.

The use of rifle is no more than range shooting and for long range hunting, dont have rifle.

Conclusion: i votef for i love my guns equally.
