Pistol, Caliber .45, Automatic, M1911A1

Fairly close copy - except for the sights, ejection port, trigger & SS bushing - my Remington R1:

I have WW I and II vintage 1911's as well as commercial Colts, Star model P, Remington R1's etc. My most often shot 1911 is a Auto Ordnance GI model that is an almost exact clone of my 1943 Colt 1911A1 and I carry it in a reproduction of the shoulder holster that was made by Boyt in 1943 and is reserved for that same Colt 1911A1.
The pistol is totally reliable and handles like a 1911 is supposed to as well as being accurate.

My introduction to 1911s came in the form of an off-brand GI-spec type pistol. I like the look and may pick up one of the newer Series 70 Colts eventually to have some close in form, but with almost usable sights. ;)

highpower 3006, I have to ask: how does that 1914 Springfield run?
