Pink guns

Hoytinak ---- My fiance fell in love with my Kahr K9 and wanted one like it but in pink so I had mine redone to her liking and gave it to her. I kinda like how it turned and but most important is that she really likes it and carries it daily.
I literally said "awwwww that's so cute" when I read that.

Pink is only the beginning. I promised my elder Sister that if she ever gets a CPL, I'm getting her a leopard print pistol to go with her shoes.

Do you suppose there could be some good logic to having a colorful gun if it's kept in a purse or bag? Depending on what else is in there, it may be easier to identify and locate a colorful gun faster than a black one.

I once saw a picture of a bright yellow AR with DeWalt tool stickers all over it. I thought it was very cool being the tool whore that I am!:D

Sheeeeeeiit, a pink gun will put the same holes in a bad guy as any other gun. Some young ladies like pink guns, some don't. What ever gets new shooters involved, women or not...

Pink gripped hadguns are a marketing tool to attract women as new shooters.

I am ALL FOR THEM.

If my wife would carry a pink gripped 38 snub all the time,I'd buy her three.

As it is,she does'nt see the need to even carry pepper spray.

the whole fad started back in the old days when gun companies wanted to soften their image, and product image. the idea of a pink or green AK/AR clone would make it impossible for the AVERAGE uneducated person to think "evil killing machine"when the politicians scream AUTOMATIC WEAPON.

After that the whole pink paint trend became a way to soften the image of a gun so that the customer and end user would not be "scared' by it. And if they were not scared by it, they would realize "no need to fear gun" and buy more from you. ie, person buys pink colored handgun/rifle, gets over fear of it, and buys 2 or more of other product line".

on other hand, some of the finishes are better resistant to salt and corrosion then standard blueing. And its easier to see bright colors at night. ever try to avoid the moron in the black or dark blue 4 door junker at 2am whos running without light? but realize its easier to avoid the white or yellow car on the side of the road at 2 am?

yeah my derringer is a light blue color - pretty much the same mentality but not pink and/or focusing on females. Honestly, the thought has definately crossed my mind and it would not surprise me that someone wouldn't take me seriously if I had them at gunpoint with the derringer. that would be a flaw on don't think everybody would make though.

I suppose pink guns are just fine for the range. But for a self-defense weapon I would stick with more traditional finishes. Because if you're pulling a gun on someone, it should be immediately apparent that you mean business.

But now that I think about it... Would racing stripes look good on a revolver?

I doubt it's a benefit - most criminals are well aware of that fact that pink guns exist - but at the same time, I don't see it as a bad thing. As we are fond of saying - a gun is only a tool. That tool will do its job regardless of what color it is.

Pink guns on its own is nothing but pink guns with pink holsters, that is something. Have not seen any, yet.
Who here is brave enough to carry one :)?
