Pink guns

I keep seeing them in the stores and think...ya know? even if I was a woman...pink? really? :barf: ....

....Then I got to thinking...What if I'm in an empty parking lot getting in my car and a mugger/car jacker or whatever jumps out on me? I pull a pink gun out...now this guy HAD the drop on me bigtime...but I'm pretty sure even a very hardened criminal is going to take pause and want to make sure I know how ridiculous my cute little pink gun is before he shoots me.."Dude...are you really pointing a pin..."BANG"......the color of the gun does not in anyway change what comes out of it :) This thought ALMOST has me considering pink gun shopping

I guess it would Probaly buy you a few seconds , I know it would be the last thing i expect to see lol
I might get one my self

I tried to get a nearly pink laminate stock from Boyds for a Howa .270... but they said they wouldnt make one...no matter how much I paid em.:(

All joking aside, there have been cases that the bad wouldn't believe it was a real gun untill he was shot. Happened in Scottsdale Az. a few years ago when my son was still with the force.

My fiance fell in love with my Kahr K9 and wanted one like it but in pink so I had mine redone to her liking and gave it to her. I kinda like how it turned and but most important is that she really likes it and carries it daily.

I my ol' lady was remarking about that just this morning. Pull a pink gun on someone and they might think it was a toy.

I got my wife a S&W 637 with pink grips. It was enough to entice her to join me at the range and if she gets tired of shooting I'll reclaim it and install different grips.

It's a win-win situation...

These pictures were taken several months ago.
The Kimber 1911 still has pink grips but the S&W has been replaced with black.
I take the handgun to the range in the lavander box. The box has more decoration now. My GF's children has drawn dragons, flowers, pie, etc.
I lost a shooting match against my girlfriend. So, my box and pistol now wears the softer colors. It was supposed to embarrass me at the range when I go alone. The thing is, I enjoy the pistol and box more with the softer colors.
I get more looks and smiles because of the box than the pistol. I take them all as compliments.
Also, of my handguns, this 1911 is the only centerfire my GF shoots when she goes with me to the range.

I don't have any problem with pink guns, but I wonder why we specifically see pink. (I did see a lavender one once). Why is it that we don't see the whole spectrum of the rainbow? Why not? Cars could come in just black or silver, but they don't, so why not have one of your favorite things in your favorite color?

My Wife and Gun Colors and Grip Colors.

Look at the 238 Sigs. My wife has a assortment different colors of S&Ws , Walthers and Rugers.
Now she is adding the different 238 Sigs to her collection, and I must say some are neat looking little Sigs.
(At least now that she started with the 238s will stop Carring my Colts)

I wonder about the retained value,,,

Not that it really matters,,,
But is the pink gun thing just a fad?

I mean are they going to be popular for just a few years then go away?

And after they go away on the new market,,,
Will they become dogs that a person can't unload at all?

I do know one lady who bought a Charter Pink Lady right when they came out,,,
Now she's graduated to a Ruger LCP and doesn't use the Pink Lady at all,,,
If and when she tries to sell it will the color prove to be a detriment?

I really have no opinion,,,
Just wondering out loud is all.

Sure, pink guns are a fad. So was the case hardened look, different kinds of camo, shiny bluing, nickle plating, etc. Like Ford believed: you can have your gun in any color you want, so long as its black.

We all know that "pink guns" will get dated. Probably give way to candy apple red, or some other sexier color. But, wait and look back on those "ergonomic" monstrosities years from now - they will look just as silly. If you want a gun that will withstand the test of time and not look silly 50 years from now, you will have to stick with the classics.

You see pink guns, pink knives, pink tools now in home depot.

IIRC - already seasoned women shooters have some negative views according to the NSSF about pink guns. However, so what. My only complaint is that they are bought and the owner doesn't train - like those who buy the pink Judges. :(

I thought the cranberrry LCP was really an attractive shade.

I doubt it has any effect on crime. I bought a Ladysmith SW once because it had better features.
