Pigs with a spear?

Horace, There is nothing tastier than a 70 on on the grill 'cept maybe a 40!:D I found it much easier to find buyers of the smaller ones both live or dressed. I could sell a roaster size dressed for over a hundred bucks at times but preferred to get them to the appreciative, thankful guys for a great discount. I was known to sell for under a buck per pound fully dressed. One time I even found out from the guy that once bought he had no clue how to prep it or even how to tell when it was fully cooked. So I even poked the holes in the hams and back to place fat back (retain juice since wild pig is lean and skinned), garlic and apple chunks, Stuffed the chest cavity with onion, pineapple, garlic, celery, apple, orange and herbs and spices. Sewed it up with stainless tie wire and wrapped entire thing tightly with foil. It was for his 4th of July cookout. He was appreciative as could be initially but he walked around the corner to my house to insist I come over after they ate, I walked in to applause and kudos from all. Including comments like "Man, Fo a cracker... You sho can cook!" You see, this was done for a black family and his guests... I did blush as I wasn't expecting thanks. I was respected highly for my gesture and these folks made sure everyone in their circle of friends knew I was not racist and did not to be treated as one. I was also known, in a completely polite manner, as " the cracker coon man" as I sold them dressed coons. I never knew the level of delicacy they had for them. I was offered, and I accepted, 40-45 dollars for an average boar size coon!

hogdogs,

I have a curiosity question for ya.

Here in Fla. do we have a dedicated hog hunting season or have they reached plague proportions and it's a shoot on sight affair?

I ask because I read somewhere that hog populations exploded so much the .gov had to declare war on'em. Wish I could remember where I read that piece. I never bookmark the best reading, it seems. :(

On public state lands they can only be shot during general gun, if they allow hog dog hunting at all most limit it also to general gun season. On private land there is no season, bag limit and the only gun limitation is no gun and light hunting. You can hunt them under affixed permanent lights or shoot them at night by natural available light like moonlight.
Anymore Q's... jist ask...

"Man, Fo a cracker... You sho can cook!"

There's a tagline, fo sho.

Back when I taught school I had a black student have a seizure. I stayed with him until the EMTs arrived. The father smoked me twenty turkey legs to say thanks. The father was a custodian at a office in town and mother was out of work at that time with a back injury. I don't know what turkey legs go for, but I worried about that family. The turkey legs sho were gud.
