Finished painting this weekend.

My bench is more of a stand. Has to be this way because of the small place I've got.

But, the base is an old disc from my great-grandfather's farm, a wheel from an ore cart (yellow-painted) and a small steel square placed on top.

Repurposed much?

The Lyman Spartan was a find at a gun show. That I repainted this weekend as well, hand painting the letters myself.

Pretty excited.

As the room filled with things to load for, I lost space to load. Currently I'm down to this small desk. I am buying a larger 30 X 60 oak desk with hutch from my neighbor when the weather breaks and transfer everything to it. Still small, it will be better.

Having just started reloading about 3 weeks ago, all you guys make me look like I need to hire an interior decorator and a maid to come in every day.

Maybe I'll work up to the point where I can post a picture!

Loading during the winter is great in my garage. But when the warm weather comes I want to be in the air conditioning. Being that my garage faces the west the sunsets can be brutal. Did I mention I'm located in Central Florida?
I saw this portable setup in this thread and thought it was a good idea so I threw together some scrap wood I had and here's my portable reloading station. When it gets hot I'm moving it to the kitchen or my computer room.

Here's my setup after about 2yrs of loading. Not nearly as nice and stocked as most of you guys but it suits me well.

Shotshell reloading bench and brass storage.

Measly ammo stash.

And of course the awesome 12ga and 20ga Christmas lights.

I made lights just like that that run the full length of the man cave.
I used green Rem instead of yellow 20's.

The wife bought a 5' strand at Cabelas for around $20+ because they looked neat. Needless to say we took them back and made a 50' strand ourselves for less than $5.

Still building mine, but here's what I have so far. Imagine peghooks on the back wall and sidewalls for reloading tools, as well as another powder measure behind the ammo plant for the single stage. I got the stand in the mail already, but still waiting on the measure itself.

The cart is from Rockler, I think. It's wheeled, when I'm not loading I plan on wheeling it into an extra bedroom out of sight. Garage space is a bit of a premium.

My reloading bench

I have started reloading recently. I had built your basic 2X4 and particle board work bench in my garage. Nothing fancy, just a basic workbench for small things and for when I do a little wood working. Then I decided to get into reloading. Now, the bench was pretty stout to begin with, but I wanted something tailored a little more for reloading, and I wanted something that looked really nice. I looked through this thread and got a lot of great ideas. I wanted to make the bench a little wider and to add some shelves to the sides. So, I built a front extension that housed 4 T-Tracks, (the bench was 8 feet long, so I needed two tracks to make up the full length), so there were two long tracks that I can mount base boards that my my reloading equipment was going to be mounted to so I can place them anywhere on the bench. To dress up the bench, I used 3/4" oak plywood. This started out with just an oak plywood bench top with a solid oak front cap. Well, as I kept working the project, it ballooned into a lot more than planned. I cut oak veneer to cover all the 2X4s and I added 1/4" oak ply on the sides and edge-banded all the shelving with solid oak. It turned out pretty good. All the reloading equipment if mounted to a 1/2" birch ply with 3/4" oak ply on top. The front and back are edge banded with solid oak and even the sides are iron-on oak veneer. The bottom 1/2" ply is 1/2" wide on the sides so the slide into the cabinet on the left side of the bench. The cabinet has a slide out platform that has my brass tumber on it. The tumber is sitting on a 3/4" rubber sheet to reduce vibration through the bench.The cabinet and the front extension on the bench are removable and are held on with bolts to make moving the bench easier. This project was only going to have my bench top replaced with a T-Track system and then got out of hand! The next project will be to add a large draw system under the bench top that will hold the turrets and dies together for each caliber. BTW, I am reloading .380, 9mm, 45ACP, .223, and 30-06 for my Garand. Will probably jump into .308 down the road once I get the gun! Enjoy!
