Picture...am I wrong?

LOL, "You may be a banana munching subhuman primate"...briandg, when did we meet? Enjoy your posts, entertaining and informative.

Shane Tuttle, one story building...she did not check the rifle, she set it on the bench, then I did...I do not recall the specific rules of this range regarding muzzle up or down

pax..."Your mistake was showing him a picture of a girl with a gun."
...I did not consider this angle and as a father of one:mad:

Those that recommended bolt/action open...no excuse...I should have done it

kraigwy, I am not a hunter but from the smile on her face and the turkey in her hand....that camo works well.

Mal H..the system was not functioning correctly so the RSO took off the cover. He offered to change targets as we needed but I let her "kill" one.

I know her form and grouping are not great(especially at 25yds)...but this was a rental and her first time!! Say what you will, but I am stoked!

Actually, there is no way to know that this is unsafe based on the photo. It would depend on the construction and intended purpose of the ceiling. You get the benefit of the doubt of course, so that's that. Plus you get extra credit for taking a young person shooting. :)

If you can only point a gun downrange, how do you ever get it out of the building? Heck, how'd you get it into the building?

The same people must be the ones asking about a holstered gun violating one of the four rules when it points at somebody or a body part.

Somebody should tell these guys they are being unsafe - might be a low flying aircraft overhead...

It might be a minor violation of the range's rules - most ranges want the muzzle pointed down-range when the gun isn't in use and not cased. FWIW, I wouldn't spend any time worrying about it.

PS: I found Pax's comment interesting - something I would have never thought about otherwise.

PS2: You know, I don't think I have one picture of myself ever holding a gun - even from when I was a kid. Just thought of this.
