Hi Mike U and Wyngnut It is a Kizlyar Military, called the Phoenix-1 I have cut and paste there description of it,
It has also proven popular with pig / wild boar hunters when dispatching their quarry. Its popularity was gained mainly due to its almost indestructible design and good balance. It is built like a T-34 tank, tough as nails. You can beat on this knife for forever and a day and know it will still function time and time again. The unique cross-section of the blade, the one-piece blade / tang construction and the strong handle / blade attachment are what equates to the success of this model knife. Blade, guard and tang are milled out of one piece of 6mm thick Russian 65X13 steel. The technique used when manufacturing this knife is similar to the process used when milling steel firearm components. The final blade will have and almost unbreakable cross-section, similar to that of steel “I” beam used in the construction industry. Blade tang goes through to the end of the handle and protrudes slightly. The Elastron handle is then molded over the top and into the tang, so, once again, if the handle grip were to work it’s way loose, it would still remain in place. The entire blade / guard and tang are all coated with a black oxide finish that is designed to protect the blade from the elements and reduce the glare / reflected light emmitance.
Total length: 320 mm Blade length: 210 mm but mine was about 5mm shorter than this at 205 mm Handle: Elastron Sheath: Genuine leather sheat heavy duty I found this knife to hold an edge well I have also used this one around camp for food prep and was amazed how well it performed considering the shape of the blade they have other nice models as well I have just ordered the Voron "Raven www.kizlyarknifestore.com.au
Why bother... Once Playboy Penguin has posted, pretty much all other shots seem ho hum. Great shots and great gear PBP... (the others seem to be catching up though!)
I'll post my "also ran" though...
Les Baer Thunder Ranch Special, Gerber Airweight (William Harsey Design), and Surefire L2
Sig P229 (.40 S&W), Benchmade Stryker, Surefire 6P
Here are some of my favorite pieces of steel and plastic.
From the top, Ontario ASEK Survival knife, Ontario SPAX, Kershaw Leek, CRKT Boot Knife (the sheath is fastened inside my boot), and my well worn Glock 26.
The Glock, Kershaw and the CRKT are with me at all times. The ASEK was a gift by my son-in-law and his company got a military contract to make the digital camo sheaths. The SPAX was a gift from him as well. I haven't figured out what I'm going to use it for but I think it's just pretty cool to have around.
