Beautiful 9mm. I started off seeking a 92s surplus police/army turn in but soon discovered they aren't legal in California So I went for a New M9

In my fantasy world, I have enough mags to keep 2-3 loaded with SD ammo, 2-3 for the range, and 1-2 backups. The only gun I come close to with that is my CZ 75BD, and that's my baby.....

It sure wouldn't hurt to pick up a couple more mags. You will be shooting it a lot. Very nice pistol - the quality of design and workmanship that you get at the price point of the 92 makes it an excellent value, IMO. Congrats and enjoy.

Solid choice. Keep your eyes open for deals on mags. There are alot of them out there so you may be able to do a deal.

Mags are the weak point in any pistol. They get dropped, bent, stepped on, feedlips crack and get bent.

Not to mention politicians get stupid laws passed restricting them based on capacity. Get em while you can
Pick up some more!!!

Congrats, great pistols. Do yourself a favor and order a Beretta D spring, it's the hammer spring they use on their DAO models, and the difference in trigger pull is night and day. Cost a few bucks and takes only a couple minutes to install.

But pray tell....why is an M9 legal and not a 92-series?

I believe he is talking about the old 92S with the heel mag release. Here in MA I cant have a 92S either unless it was already in state. Pistols must be submitted for approval and make a roster which the out of production 92S is not on. So I can have all the new Beretta variants, but not the old 92S. I know, makes absolutely no sense.

Exactly right my friend. On California's legalized extortion called a handgun list there are 14 92's but no 92s

The M9 is about $600 while a surplus 92s was about $300

Check out Mecgar for mags. They make the factory mags for it I believe, but the Mecgar labeled mags are lots cheaper than the Beretta labeled ones.

I got my M9 a couple of years ago. It has been fun learning how to use it and I've loaded 1000's of 9mm rounds for it. I was lucky to find a couple of extra mags cheap when the LGS went out of business and then found a good deal on line for Mecgar mags. They have worked well so no issues if you want to go that route for extra mags.
I liked shooting it so well I've since added a Ruger P95 and Smith & Wesson Shield to my 9mm collection.
