Amen for ridding yourself of the TV. I haven't had the TV hooked up for 3 years. We can still watch videos and we do about once a week, but we can't get network reception out here, and we refuse to hook up satalite dishes.
My parents have the satalite, and their TV stays glued to FOX. I get to watch it from time to time, and I guess I really do like Hannidy and Colmes, and the O'Riley factor, but not enough to pipe in all the rest of the trash in my home. Instead, my wife and I lounge around, read, do housework, and .
We also spend a lot of time with our son (he's almost walking now), and we just really wouldn't have Tom, Dan or Peter back in our home EVER. If you lose the TV, you get a whole new perspective on life.
