Utah joining the list of permitless states is big, really big as that is now the largest state by number of active conceal carry permits in the country with over 700k.
At a renewel fee of $10, that's over $7 million of revenue that Utah is now not collecting, not too mention the $46 for every initial application.
Montana isn't a surprise, they have practically had permitless carry outside of cities forever, which is the reason why their number or permits is so low.
What I want to see is Texas or Florida or some other high population state that has a significant non-White population, because in my estimation, besides money (which is a major reason for the resistence to going permitless as Florida and Texas would lose $10 million a year doing it) the other big reason why we don't see states like Texas, Florida, Indiana, Ohio, Georgia, and North Carolina pass permitless carry is because they have a lot of Black or Hispanic people and the lily White state reps shiver at the thought of a young, Black man carrying a gun without license.
