Perhaps silly but serious question about ccw and public restrooms...

i have to say, this is the most original gun forum topic i've seen in some time lmao :D

i haven't sat on a public can in years. i either hold it in till i'm back home, or go before. public cans are gross, and my ass deserves better. ;)

rest stop cans are the nastiest (well maybe second nastiest next to greyhound bus station cans). :barf:

Interesting question!

My daily carry weapon is a pocket carried LCP, so no issues there. When I "rarely" carry my Walther PPS 9mm IWB, it still goes into a pocket (it does fit) until i'm ready to exit the stall.

Cured my constipation one afternoon in a gas station by placing a Glock 23 on top of a porcelain hand dryer - it looked level when I put it there. The sound of that thing hitting the tile floor feels worse than an accidental discharge at the range and can cause an accidental discharge into the john!

The gun did not fire, and there was no damage to the Glock finish - go figure! However, my rear sight was moved almost 1/4 inch to the right.

The upside was that I had to go to the range to sight in my pistol.

changing room at a waterpark; 2009

Dropped my gun on the floor when changing; skidded 5 ft away.
Looked up, and a midget was looking at the gun, then me. Cocked one eyebrow at me, and left the room.

I'm still laughing......

For serious discussion about wear google "Massad Ayoob" and read his thinking.

Well I'ven gone commando since my teens so it can be a problem. I carry shoulder holster and ankle too, so its not a problem in those carry locations.

However IWB can be a headache. Usually I just transfer it into a front pocket. With most guns this is fine...however with the Walther PPS it is a problem, short travel 5 lb trigger with no safety - don't want to fumble that (much prefer a DA/SA setup) so I make sure when I'm carrying the PPS it is on the ankle or in a shoulder holster.

If you wear boots, untuck one leg and temp store in the side of the boot. the middle of the pants idea is about the best bet. Just dont forget its there or the Smith may turn into a Browning real quick:D

And I think that's a GREAT place to end this thread before the puns get even worse...

The consensus seems to be drop your carry piece into your "under the butt nut hut" (oh crap, the puns just got worse...) and go from there.

Personally, I carry in either a pocket or shoulder holster about 99.9% of the time, so I'm good to go.
