Perfectra brand ammo and gun issues, .380?

Imperfecta

Don't know about the pistol ammo, but I just sorted through a mixed batch of range pickup .223 cases, and all the "Perfecta" cases found, had flash holes that were so far off center, I trashed every one I discovered for scrap. They obviously had shot once......but I was not going to reload cases with the flash hole so oddly placed.

My big gripe with the LCP is the side pins that hold the frame in place walk out, seems a common problem with this gun.
For a pistol as small as the LCP is to shoot the .380, I'm not surprised to hear of issues like this or frame cracking.

This is why I really, REALLY favor the Ruger/Interceptor ARX polycase ammunition. I don't care about the fluted bullet and "radial dispersion" stuff, I like that its light weight reduces recoil, makes the LCP more comfortable to shoot, has a bullet profile that aids in feeding, and doesn't need a certain velocity to expand. You shoot the bullet, it will go 12 inches in soft tissue, tumble, won't overpenetrate, and give you an easier follow up shot, which you'll likely need with a .380.

The Steel case ammo has nothing to do with "Frame Cracks" on the LCP's. Frame cracks or the take down pin coming out or snapping, come from the build quality of the gun and parts. Yes, I will agree with you that you should not use any hot ammo on the LCP. There are guns out there that are built much better with "stainless steel frames" and stainless steel take down pins that are rated and advertised for Plus P or HOT ammo.
All the test I have seen with 380 ARX did not make the grade.
Bruce at "Mouse gun addict" did a great review of the ARX and 9mm plus P.
However ARX 9mm Plus P was a success. I carry the ARX Plus P in my 9mm CCW (Ruger LC9S and Ruger LCR9mm and they shoot great. Fast, accurate, and recoil does have a 20% reduction in felt recoil. Also the ammo is lighter to carry.
I have not shot perfecta 380. But it shoots great in my 9MM's.

ARX 9mm test along with a list of 380 tested.

I also wouldnt recommend an BOSNIAN mfg MAXX TECH ammo

hard primers, very light primer strikes, Im lucky the ammo even fired with such light primer strikes.

NO more MAXX TECH made in BOSNIA ammo for me, not something I would stock up on after seeing the primers.

especially if your using it in a striker fired pistol, I used it in a hammer fired Browning BDA .380 and it still had light primer strikes.

one rd out of the 100 rd box misfired and required another strike to fire.

I use Perfecta 9mm, .40S&W, and .45acp regularly in a host of pistols,
never an issue that wasn't pistol-related...as in worn springs...

Wish they made a .32acp/7.65 Browning offering, I'd love
to try that out in my Mouse ERMA KGP68A ;)

I have shot a ton of 380 auto out of my LCP and Beretta 85B. Not a single issues. I have also shot about 400 rounds of 223 through various AR15s. I like Wolf Gold better but at the time the Perfecta was cheaper even with the tax at Sprawlmart.

I had missed that Perfecta was on clearance at Walmart. I appreciate the reminder, as I got the last of my local Walmart's Perfecta .380 a few days ago.
