Pearl grips on a 1911 .45- Why or Why Not?

I have a pair of checkered, ivory"esque" grips on my black 1911. The grips were made out of cow bone that had been turned into powder and then molded with a plastic binder. so they aged like real ivory. With the checkering no one can tell the difference, I get compliments on them all the time.

Some cool grips

Anyone know of someone that makes fake or real ivory grips with the grim reaper on them ?

This is not mine, I downloaded it sometime ago. I believe it belongs to ArmySon, though I'm not very sure about that.

A smart shooter will pick after market grips because they prevent "walking" during recoil. Or help the shooter grip the pistol better. If you pick grips for looks thats the wrong reason.

Naah..a good set of grips is about as important as a set of blingin rims, gold on your grill, and jewry, lotsa jewry (bitches love the jewry).

ATeaM, check out www.sidryan.com he should have what you want.

I like ivory or stag stocks on my pistols. I think that pearl stocks would be just a little too fragile for daily wear. Both ivory and stag tend to age with use and take on a personality of their own.

MOO

Real pearl stocks would be ok on a deeply blued bbq gun.

Pearl grips on a 1911 and Foxy's hat....a real Fashion Statement.

Some people like pearl grips, but I gotta go with General George Patton's idea about the Nawlins' House procurer of male customers..........

Foxy's Hat

What worries me is that Foxy was somehow able to come across a picture of a hat like that!

Where did you find it? pimps-R-we or pimpdaddy.com?;)

Somewhere, I have a set of the black pearlite.

They look good on a blued gun.

They are slippery. Don't even think of handling them with sweaty hands, it's like juggling soap slivers.

They are fragile. They scratch and crack at the drop of a hat. Even that ugly purple one Foxy found.

But they do look good on a deep blue gun.

And if you can learn to shoot it, nobody laughs.
