Parts from Numrich

I've ordered from them before with good results. I've recommended them to people in the past, and I will in the future.

I've only ordered from them a few times, but most experiences have been good. One problem I did have was I ordered two screws for a muzzle loader that held the stock on. They were silver from the factory. They sent me one black screw and one silver one. Who wants mismatched screws that are very visible? I called them up and the first lady gave me some long speech about how I had to fill out some form to return the screw and once they got it back they could send me another. It sounded like a pita. I'd also sent an email and got a reply back from that stating not to ship the old screw back that they would just send me another in silver. So it turned out okay, but it was a hassle and they should have sent two of the same color the first time imo.

All other experiences have been great. I always call first and the recording reads a code off for free shipping. They still charge a handling fee or something, but it ends up being a lot cheaper.

45+ years and I have no complaints

I have been dealing with them for a long time, and always have gotten good service. I have even been to their showroom (you can't go in the warehouse). Not sure about today, but 20yrs ago, Numrich was the only thing in West Hurley, NY!:D

You do, sometimes, get used parts. They buy guns for the parts. Sometimes, the only way to get a part is from a used gun. If you are looking for something really rare, always call. They have stocks of parts that are too small for them to list in the catalog, and I would imagine the same goes for their on line listings as well.

Also, if they don't have what you are looking for, check back every so often, their stock of parts does change.

I ordered two long-action Savage stocks from Numrich; one a 112 VLP and the other a 112 BVSS. I was told both were staggerfeed, but the VLP stock was for a centerfeed action (not a huge deal, I sold it within 15 minutes of posting it online).

The VLP stock was in immaculate condition, but the BVSS stock I received had a good number of scratches on its left side (looked like it had been dragged across diamond plate), which aggravated me since the stock was supposedly new. I returned it and they said they'd hand-pick a replacement stock for me. When I received it, it was immaculate...except for the bash on the top near the recoil lug inlet that had cracked the stock both outside and inside the barrel channel. It looked like somebody had hit it, with substantial force, on the corner of a desk or bench.

I sent a complaint email in which I said I could live with cosmetic scratches but not any stock cracks, and was told fairly frankly by their customer service lady that they had sent me the best stock they had and that they would issue a full refund. I asked them to send me another stock, but that I needed one that wasn't cracked...and I was pretty told in not so many words that they would not be sending me another exchange stock.

I might buy from there again, but I was highly unimpressed with their shipping/turnaround times and even less impressed with the quality of merchandise they advertise as "factory new".

When you order from them call them on the phone first. If they are busy, and they always are, they'll give you a code number to add to your on line order and you'll get free shipping. If you get right through, which never happens, hang up and try again in a few minutes. Get your number, go on line and send in your order.
