H hammie New member Jun 17, 2013 #2 Great looking rifle. There is nothing more classic than a mauser action (except maybe a 1911 pistol). Of course this begs the question: What is the cartridge chambering in your new shilen barrel?

F ForneyRider New member Jun 19, 2013 #6 The bottom metal is aluminum and I believed anodized. This rifle was made in 1969. The aluminum had a purplish hue to it. I really liked the Nosler rifle look and was going for that look.
