As it sorta specifies in the ad I linked (in #2 above), it comes with a plastic "plug" in the tube which limits it to 3+1... But the plastic "plug" can be very easily removed... and then it's 5+1... (yes, with 3" shells).
I suppose they ship them with the plug in because some states have a 3-shots-per-magazine limit for some forms of hunting but I'm no expert on the subject.
I bought my Pardner Protector at Dicks in Natick. I then took it home and noticed there was a plastic plug in the mag tube which limited the capacity to 2+1. This is normal from the factory. The manual states it's removable. So thats what I did, and now she holds five (5) total. There's no Mass limit of 3 for Non-hunting purpose such as self defense. I just bought a Weatherby PA08 Pump at Dick's in Dedham on Saturday. I have bought guns at Brockton, Dedham, and Natick and so far been satisfied. Dedham and Natick lodge crews
seem more knowledgable. Good luck
The proper way is to measure down the bore to the face of the closed bolt.
The Pardner Pump in the corner behind me has a factory 18.5" barrel, and the one in the pic looks shorter than that, which is why I ask. Being wrong on barrel length measurement is a federal felony, which is why I'm concerned for you.
Lee hardwood flooring usually measure's in at 2 1/4 inches wide. That barrel looks like it is about 8 boards wide so it should be spot on at 18 inches. Too close for comfort.
I recently purchased one of these shotguns, took it out to the BLM area where I like to shoot, shot a couple of boxes of 2-3/4" 00 buck, and I give it a thumbs up.
I'm mostly into the 1911 pistol and also enjoy ARs, AKs, and an SKS. I wanted a no frills, sturdy 12ga shotgun. I have no plans to make any modifications to it. It looks like it is rugged enough to outlive me and it works. That's all I need.
Made in China, yes I know, but to me it's ironic that it comes from there. Private citizens in China usually can't own firearms. But they made one for me, a free American, to buy for next to nothing. The joke is on them.
Strait-up tank gun. Heavy and durable. Just shot my buddies yesterday at the range. 1000's of shells through it. He takes it out every time we go shooting and has had 0 problems with his. Gonna get myself one in the coming months. At 160$ it's a steal. I cant find 'em for under $200.
