P32 a piece of junk?

I simply can't understand the sometimes rabid desire to have a second-strike in any defensive handgun. If you have a mis-fire, continuing to pull the trigger is the last thing you should do! That lost instant could be your life, more often than not, a second strike will not solve the problem.

After asking about the P32 in earlier forums, I bought a hard chrome model and a week later bought another "UGLY" one blued. My wife and I carry them daily. We love them. A lot of rounds through both with zero problems. Mostly silver tips.

Beauty can be found in the X ring a seven yards!

Well, here's my follow up. After I wrote the message I tried chambering a round. It jammed 8 out of 8 tries. 6 tries with Winchester Silvertip and two tries with a RNFMJ bulllet. I sighed fearing that my fears had been confirmed.

Nevertheless, I buffed and polished the feed ramp real good and took it to the range. With the feed ramp polished it fed just fine. It fired flawlessly 50 rounds. No stovepipes, no misfires.

The range I took it to was outdoor with closest targets at 25 yards. I was actually impressed that some of the bullets fell within the target circle.

I liked the feel of the gun when firing and I love the sights. I see a lot of people dislike them, but I think they are far and away the best mousegun type sights I've ever seen.

So, in conclusion, she's a keeper. Sorry guys. My buddy's kind of irritated with me though because he was not planning on spending any more money on guns for awhile. But, after seeing mine, he's heading down to the store.

Okay, now for the next question. I fired both Winchester Silvertips and Magtech RNFMJ bullets through her. The Magtech produced a much tighter group than the Silvertips. I'm thinking about trying Fiachi ammo in it, but their velocity specs are so much higher than everyone else's that I wonder if they are +P bullets. Anybody know?

Also, what other ammo have you P32 users found most effective?

P.S. Thanks for all your comments past and present which led me to purchase what seems to be a fine (even if slightly ugly) firearm.

I'm a LEO and I have many backup guns and my P-32 is the only one that gets carried these days due to its ease of carry. I love mine and have had zero malfunctions. In my area you can not just walk into a gun shop and buy one, you have to get on a list, my wife wants my chrome slide model. I'm going to try and find her one at the gun show tomorrow. She's not geting my P-32.

Pardon my ignorance, but isn't the P32 DAO with a partially internal hammer? Doesn't it have second-strike capability? I'm going to check this out at my dealer's later today, as I'm thinking about getting one. Just curious.

Everything you said is correct except it does not have restrike capability.

Thanks for straightening me out -- I did check it out for myself today at my dealer's, and in fact I bought the P32 he had there! Took it to the range, and it ate everything I fed it (~80 rounds total) -- even the hydrashocks that my Guardian spit out. I did have a few failures to extract, but only with Magtech FMJ -- I think the brass was a little soft -- but that smoothed out after the first 30 rds or so. It shoots to POA, and will put shots within an inch at 10 yds if I do my part. I love this little pistol -- I hope my other CCW pieces don't get jealous.

The more you carry it the bigger and heavier your other guns will seem. The Glock 26 looks HUGE now.

I'm still just a gun-shopper, not a gun-owner, but I did check out the KT-32 this weekend. I liked what I had read, but once I picked one up, I thought it was way too small! I wasn't sure I could use it, so I moved on. But I'm still seeing raves, so I'll think some more.
What do you mean by second strike?
This gun is so small, it's obviously intended for ccw, so why would you care what it looks like, as long as it does the job?

I called Marty and Cliff at KT about bullet selection.

The P-32 was designed around the Win Silvertip - the most popular and street proven .32 ACP round.

So that's what I carry. Anything else is treason!

And while you're spending, AIMSurplus sells 1,000 rounds for $75 about. Get a case for practice and you'll be able to stay sharp and plink for a good year or so.

And don't forget robert Hedley and his great pocket holsters.
