Out of all of your revolvers

My S&W Model 10-8 in .38 special. Accurate, light recoil and have a boss who reloads 100 rounds for $15.

I also have a S&W Model 22 Classic in .45 acp. Nice revolver, but the double action trigger pull is very heavy. In single action, it's very accurate.

Just picked up a S&W Model 21 Classic in .44 special. It came with hogue grips and the single/double action pull is very smooth. The accuracy is great and fits the hand perfectly. Now I just need to get that goofy lock removed from it and she'll be perfect.:D

My Dan Wesson .44 Mag, Colt Royal Blue Finish, *inch Barrel (have a additional 8 ,6 & 4 inch barrel options both vented and non vented) Rubberized Grips (but looking for some nice wood Grips), 2x optics scope....

To Me this is the epitome of what a revolver should be, beautiful finish, nice GTJD caliber, my fave is the 8 inch barrel on it... Simply Beautiful Shooting.

What a great thread and superb pictures! I have a S&W M&P360, a S&W 37-3, some Heritage revolvers, but my favorite is my Ruger Blackhawk .357mag 6.5"barrel.

I sure do envy Jack O'Conner's picture. Maybe someday I can achieve that!

I don't have a favorite. However, if I were to leave the house with only one revolver, it would be a Ruger Security Six -- the same gun I carried for years.

My 686 is my favorite revolver. It of course is a .357 but shooting .38s gives you different options. The gun has a 6" barrel and is very accurate in single action mode. Shooting double action is a fun challenge too.

It would have to be my FA Mdl 83, a 6" 454. This gun is the perfect size, balances well, points naturally, and has the sweetest trigger on any (production) revolver I've ever felt.

The Ruger BH Convertible 5.5" (45/45) is a close second. 25% of the price of the 83, and gives it a run for the money. I'm a happy camper.

My favorite would have to be my SW 29No dash from 1962. I have a couple of 29-2s from the 1970s but the 1962 gun is very accurate, a big bore which I love and a real piece of early .44 magnum history. I just like it more than the 29-2s for some reason.

I just finished my rant at another post, but mod 28-2 4in smith takes it for me. I think KraigWy knows what I mean..

I only have two guns, the mosin nagant, and a S&W 686 4". Couldent be happier with these guns and I plan to be very proficient with both of them. I don't rate my guns or put them on a list I am just friends with all of the ones I own.

For concealed carry, I like my Ruger LCR in .357 mag. I carry Buffalo Bore .38 spl 150 gr Hard Cast Wadcutters OR Carbon DPX .38+P in it. If I had just to pick an overall revolver I LOVE, it would have to be one of my single action revolvers. I love my pair of Ruger New Vaqueros in .357 mag (5.5 inch) and my Cimarron Lightnings .38 cal (3.5 inch).

I pick for the occasion. Just for shooting fun 686. Target shooting blackhawk. Hunting redhawk. Just one for everything? That kills me! Probably the redhawk. It has the capability of doing everything I want out of revolver. It is a little tough to conceal in the summer time though! Lol!:D

My S&W Model 14-8 does it for me even with it's IL and MIM.
Most accurate factory centerfire gun I have ever owned.
Caliber= 38Spl.
Action type = single or double
Barrel length = 6.0"
Finish= Blue

Favorite Revolver

It has to be my S&W model 19-3, blued with presentation grips...more accurate than I am and a pleasure to shoot with 38 special.

What makes the certain one your favorite.
Caliber=large or small
Action type = single or double
Barrel length = 2"to 10''
Finish= blue, stainless ,nickel .

Very simple

Function

Caliber will vary by function and so will size.

If it fits the required function it is my favorite

Snake

I'll cheat and go with a recent poster's "function" comment:
Fun
Ruger Single Six "Vaquerito"
- .32 H&R Mag
- Single Action
- 4-5/8" bbl
- Blue
- Most hoot to shoot and my first handgun ('84)--in 5.5" adj sight form--that wasn't a family hand-down piece. One of best pairings of cartridge and gun I've ever run across - tied perhaps with .44 Special mid-frame (SAA/Ruger).

Self Defense/Carry
S&W Lady Smith 65 pre-lock
- .357
- Double Action
- 3" bbl, full lug
- Satin stainless
- Most all 'round useful; carryable power. Fifteen years or so after S&W discontinued, still the "perfect modern DA," IMO.

"Indefinable" (combo of features)
Ruger New Vaquero "Sheriff"
- .44 Special
- Single Action
- 3.75" bbl
- Bright gloss stainless
Most flexible caliber for what I need, .357 usefulness without the "sturm und drang," decent power for just about anything south of 45th parallel, a sort of "Doc Holliday" charm, harkens to old west but utterly reliable, actually carryable. Loaded "hot" for black bear country and snakeshot for the no-leggeds, just about covers it all as the ultimate camp or trail gun in my neck o' woods.
"Just because"
Cimarron Model P
- .44 Special
- Single Action
- 5.5" bbl
- Antiqued (non factory)
- My most "fondled" handgun. Tuned to high heaven, perfect balance, classic 4-click snick-snick feel w/o worrying about nicking it up unlike my similar configuration recent-year Colt.

"Had to choose" (not even listed above)
Ruger New Vaquero
- .44 Special
- Single Action
- 4-5/8" bbl
- blue
Most practical combination of above features (plus) that still has an "emotional" component making you want to regularly handle it. Perfect/most useful overall barrel length. Harkens to "old west" charm but fires full six. Needs to be CCH'd to complete and really "speak to me" but it's a great package as it is.

"No, really have to choose"
- Above S&W 65 Lady Smith. Not my emotional choice (see immediately above), but the one I probably would have to pick. Darn close to the perfect daily-use handgun if hunting (optimally) isn't on the list.
