LOL one place we frequent, the owner has set up 10 foot fences, just for that purpose.
It is a real nice fence too. 3 inch cattle guard fencing all the way around.
Must've cost him a huge fortune.
He was thinking he would hoard what he had caught and make some extra cash.
ATTT's father-in-law leases a few hundred acres there for feed, so we get to sweep thru there on occasion.
We freaked out the owners sister one day when we passed by the house with "The Red-Neck Parade" locked and loaded on top of ATTT's truck.
If my memory serves, there were four of us up there.
So, now we don't go on the place when he or his family are around.
They use this place as a weekend and summer getaway. (They are wealthy)
In the last year, we have only been on the place four times.
Anyway, now the pigs have multiplied and began 'bumping' the fencing.
The owner shoots the things everywhere... including the tanks.
He used to leave the carcasses where they fell, including in the tanks.
(That was some seriously nasty water.)
Three weeks ago, he called while ATTT and I were trying to get that 205Lb sow in the truck.
He shot more pigs and wanted to know if we wanted them.
Along with his, we had five pigs to clean.
He is getting more knowledgeable now.
His property alone is something like 1100 acres, about 1.7 square miles. (yes, he fenced the entire thing, ten foot high)
I wonder if he realizes yet, that he has hundreds of pigs, and about three dozen deer.
Literally, every time we go on his property for pigs, we stumble across 'sounds' of them. Either mothers with piglets, or juvenile boars in groupings.
The deer seem to 'hide' from the pigs by staying on the cultivated areas and away from the natural cover.
He has enough property to get away with 'canned hunts' but did not account for the breeding rate.
He has way too many now, but has yet to ask openly for our help getting them back to a controlled population.
Thanks to that fence, he is stuck, and we are waiting...
One day, that fence will be breached, and there will be a commotion the likes of which hasn't been seen.
All his neighbors will hate him... with full freezers. :barf:
