Oregon Initiative 43 passes first step; complete ban on all modern guns...

Aside from the Owellian aspect of being registered, what are your thoughts on putting firearms in a family/friends trust before the law passes (assuming it would if it makes it on the ballot)?

The purpose I envision for the trust would be to allow you to share use of your firearms with family and close friends, and allow them to "own" them via the trust after your death. For now it looks like family could inherit them OK, but no guarantee some time in the future that door gets closed. And if you are going to set up a trust you need to transfer them into the trust before the law goes into effect.

1) Does a firearms trust provide any significant capability near and long term versus registering as an individual?

2) If it is useful for this purpose, how best to construct it? Would it be like an NFA trust where you can have owners and users separate? Could people be added and removed after the law is enacted?

3) Are there any other ways to "live within the law" yet have more protection than a plain old individual?

4) Know of any low cost property locations in central Idaho?
