options for 30 remington brass

I checked it after I posted it and it worked

Of course it worked for me, I now realize, it was a link to my own account.

If he is interested and replies to me ill see if I can get them connected.

I have my grandfather's Model 81 Woodsmaster in .30 Remington. The first deer I ever killed with a rifle was killed with it in Ashley County, Arkansas.

I kept scrounging around and found a couple of dusty bags of brand new Remington brass in a little reloading shop. Then I found some more in the used/clearance room at another shop. I still have two boxes of Western Super X Silvertip and a box of Remington KleanBore that I had from back in the day. I had about 40 rounds of once fired brass.

I bought a brand new set of .30 Remington RCBS dies from Sportsman's Guide. Now I am working up some loads for it and then I will load up all of my brass and probably be set.

It's not easy to find, but there is still some .30 Remington stuff out there.

When I got my Model 8 I wasn't aware of the brass/ammo issue. I did find a box of ammo eventually, and a member on thegreatmodel8 sold me a bag of brass. RCBS had the dies.

The .30 Remington is a *nice* little cartridge. Remington made little effort to promote the .25-.30-.32 outside the Model 8/81 line, though. The only other rifle I know of chambered for one of those was the Model 30, which was a civilianized P17 Enfield. The petite little .30 was probably lost in there, considering the P17 will swallow .505 Jeffrey or .577 Tyrannosaur...
