Optics for the RAR, Leupold or Vortex

done

Well, I see you ended up with new scopes, so good for you. I have not owned a "new" Redfield, but read and hear good things about them. I have one Nikon 3-9 Prostaff, that came on a used rifle, and a couple of Burris's, and have no complaints with either. The Nikon got hunted pretty hard for two seasons and held up fine on a .308 Savage Hog Rifle.

When you get the point where you are scope shopping again, consider a USED Leupold, from E-bay. Leupolds still bring good prices, but now and again, a scope will surface that has some cosmetic marks, that sell pretty cheap. And Leupold's warranty will cover any other problems, irregardless of who owns it.
You can find some deals on other models as well....sometimes.

I have a variety of scopes; Leupold, Millett, Primary Arms, old Japanese ground Tasco, and Vortex As I am a detail freak, all of them have adjustable parallax; my preference, YMMV. For the $$, Vortex makes a very fine glass.
First focal plane is nice; but, can be confusing. She doesn't care for FFP so the Barnes lacks it.
As I know how to use them; I prefer mil dots. If you don't know how to connect the dots; mil-dots are a waste of time, For hunting the duplex reticle is top drawer as it offers fast centering for moving targets and fine "hairs" for targets. Simply said, millions of hunters aren't wrong.
