In terms of overall ruggedness I would agree...
In terms of optical quality not so much... You can get comparable and in many cases better glass from Zeiss (Victory), Swarovski, Leica, US Optics, Schmidt & Bender, Leupold Mark 6 & 8 and other select models..

I have had the oppertunity to look down most of these scopes,barring Schmidt & Bender ( Never seen one ) I see no better quality in the glass what so ever. Now my eyes are 52 yrs old,so that could be part of it right there
. Crystal clear is crystal clear to me I guess. Your younger eyes are probably much better than mine.
