Opinions on the Ruger Bearcat?

A few guys mentioned semi autos and being able to shoot more etc . . . .
I don't know about your area, but 22LR is scarce around these parts. A week or two before the start of the panic, I bought a Ruger 10-22 take-down rifle and some extra mags including the Ruger 25 rounders. But when I go shooting 22s, I now prefer my bolt action rifles and my revolvers. I take my time and shoot with focus. No more quick emptying of mags and spraying lots of cheap & readily found 22. (I never saw much appeal in that anyway.) Another advantage to revolvers & bolt action 22 rifles, is that theyll just about shoot anything. They may not shoot all types of ammo equally well, but they'll probably go 'bang' no matter what you find to shoot in them.

I have the Bearcat Shopkeeper but haven't gotten out to shoot it. I can't wait to tho, maybe soon. We might get a week or so break between contracts soon, I am hoping so, it's like unpaid vacation time and that's fine with me.

I prefer the traditional look of fixed sights. Does the Single Six with fixed sights usually shoot to point of aim?

I did not personally notice a lot of difference in POA/POI with any of the .22s I used in my fixed-sight Single Six. However, like any other revolver with fixed sights, shooting to point of aim depends on the weight and velocity of the ammo you use and the distance at which you are shooting. You have to find the ammo that best shoots to point of aim with a particular gun, adjust the gun's sight to match your favorite ammo, or adjust your aim.

While a fixed-sight Single Six is sexy and nostalgic, the adjustable-sight version is easier to use with a variety of ammo over a range of distances.

It's all about the size and fit of the gun.

Having said that, it's without a doubt one of thee coolest guns on the planet! ;)
