Opinions on "medicine cabinet guns"

Put guns in the medicine cabinet has got to be a terrible idea:barf:The bathroom is the one place in your house you have friends , relation , kids and who else, and all it takes is opening the medicine cabinet to get to it:eek:And if you don't think people go in your medicine cabinet guess again:confused: I had some pain pills when some contractors got done working I was missing half if not more:mad:

I would go with a S&W J frame size revolver for the bathroom --- also a 12ga or 20ga. near the front door.

I AM NOT a fan of the wizbang electric safes --- do a Net search and you will find MANY reports of them not working , as in getting them to open.

A dial comb. safe is what I like --- just set it so you only have to speed dial the last number in to open.

Ps --- those clocks/picture frames work well with most full size handguns and there is no lock to mess with.

Agree with "not the medicine cabinet"

but I think since you are not planning "on your person", go for as big ( within reason ) a hand gun, as you can fit the it's respective hiding place... emphasis being on easiest to shoot accurately, rather than your typical bug or CCW gun... a 4" barreled revolver, or full size auto, will typically give you a better controlled shot, & can yield higher capacity, & can / could add more to the intimidation factor ( just choose either calibers ( or the frangible bullets ) needed to as safely as possible, shoot a bad guy without dangerous over penitration ( guess that 500 S&W wins in intimidation factor, but loses in the accidently shooting your neighbor, through several walls, catagory )

also agree with choosing a fire arm finish that fits it's storage environment, like stainless for the bathroom...
