Olympic arms AR questions

The M-16 was tested allot before forced on the GI's now wasn't it.
Right. That was 50 years ago. The first rifles went into service in the AF in 1962. A lot has changed in that time.
The question was is $450.00 bucks a good deal on a OLY AR. Yes it is a good deal.
And as I have said earlier, I agree that is a good deal. $579 for a PSA is a much better deal in my opinion. For the extra $129 you may have something that will last 5-10k rounds.

Most people will never see 5K let alone 10K on their dime. Just like most twill never wear out a barrel on a hunting rifle in their life time. I've got a Smith 41 22 which has between 10 and 15K though it and that my friend is allot of shooting. It's also a bunch of spent powder, bullets and $. I have a match AR that is high mileage and it's got close to 4K on it, maybe a little more. Still shoots OK until the 600 yard line and then it shows it's age. Most would not notice though.

Here's a compromise. Buy your friends Oly for $400 (friend discount) and then buy a PSA upper for as low as $329 +15 shipping. Best of both world.
