Is it safe to carry a revolver in double action mode (of course) on a live round?

Yes it is.

Worried about a discharge? Don't pull the trigger! Same as with a Glock, SIG, Beretta, H&K, etc.

It's perfectly safe to carry modern revolvers from the major manufacuers like S&W, Ruger, and the like will all cylinders loaded. They all have hammer blocks built in to prevent discharge if the weapon is dropped accidentally. Older revolvers may be an entirely different story. It used to be common to carry both single and double action revolvers with the hammer down on an empty cylinder for just that reason.
