OK. Who let Jimmy Carter out?

Fidel Castro, Socialist leftist party, Jimmy kissed him on the lips for the media when he was in cuba for a little visit back in 2002. Chevez another Left wing socialist who also loves to dicate how people will live, should be imprisoned or just executed for personal reasons. Stalin was a Socialist workers Democrat party member. Hitler was a socialist too as wel as many others. Social control is a trademark of the left, so is proaganda.

Any ideas on whether civil war between Hamas and Fatah could actually benefit the Israelis?
Only in the most rudimentary ways. 1) All resources are limited, so whatever Hamas and Fatah spend on killing each other means fewer resources available to kill Israelis. 2) The more time Hamas and Fatah spend on killing each other means the less time they have to kill Israelis. 3) Some experienced people from both Hamas and Fatah would get killed, leaving fewer experienced psychos to kill Israelis.

But I doubt they'll have an all-out civil war.

Things will be interesting. Hamas seems better organized and has a better reputation with the Palestinian populace. The problem is that they'll have a difficult time changing their operational and organizational mindsets. They won't want to change from what's worked for them in the past. However, they will have to change because those ways won't work for them in their new role. If they don't change, things will go very, very badly for them.

Carbiner, you forgot a few things. Carter hailed Tito as "a man who believes in human rights." Of Ceausescu and himself: "Our goals are the same: to have a just system of economics and politics . . . We believe in enhancing human rights." (Romanians desecrated the bodies of Ceausescu and his wife when they found them.) Praised Syria's late Assad (who killed at least 20,000 in Hama), the Ethiopian tyrant Mengistu (another mass murderer), and Kim Il Sung, one of the most destructive dictators in history (Carter: "I find him to be vigorous, intelligent,...and in charge of the decisions about this country"—not particularly astute, given that Kim Il Sung was an absolute ruler). He gave continued support to Yassar Arafat, the inventor of airline hijacking and a promoter of suicide bombings.

Other than that, Carter's record is pretty impressive.:barf:

Maybe Jimmah can strap on that tool belt and build some slums for the Mooslims while he's there.

I have always thought that Carter was the only president to compare with TR. They are the only two presidents to win the Nobel peace prize and the only two to write books about hunting. Also, TR was anything but quiet after leaving office. He even formed his own party. Of course, he never served in the navy but you can't have everything.

TR and Jimmy Carter? That's quite a comparison.

Hunting ... TR hunted big game, and Jimmy hunted ... wabbits? From a canoe?

TR's visage is on Mount Rushmore, and Jimmy ... well, maybe he should be on Mount Rushmore too ... in an orange jumpsuit with a trash collection bag.

The main difference between Jimmy Carter and Teddy Roosevelt is how they would react to the comparison.

Carter would thank you and smile.

Roosevelt would likely challenge you to a boxing match to defend his honor.

Carter

He is a man who, in the eyes of the "Born Again Christians" is a perfect example of, Jesus Christ.
Think about that one.
Then think, about a quarter of the population (religious groups) in America, are born again. Granted all do not think like he does, but quite a few do, similar to Jesse Jackson.

When I was in the Navy, I met a lot of Born Agains, and none of them cared for Jimmy or Jesse. With Jesse, they simply blew him off. With Jimmy, they were deeply, deeply disappointed. They were much happier having Reagan as their boss, as was I.

Funny, to forgive and to turn your cheek.

Uh, no. I haven't met any Christian who thought that way.

HQ mentions:
I was in a discussion a couple of weeks ago, about J.C. (both) and his moral and ethical back ground and his helping humanity.
If you are not on the same page with it, I am unable to relate to your comment.

Good man, I hope he gets a good write up in history.:)

Teddy wasn't as good a hunter as Jimmy. Because Jimmy said he saw a six foot tall rabbit. Teddy never did that.

He also never gave the country 23 percent mortgage interest rates.

Yea, funny Mortage rate down now, credit cards high.

It was just the other way around, at that point and time. It is just another way of taking the wool from the sheep. If it is not money it is your soul they want. Pretty scary.

Now that Hamas will be functioning on a state level, they will be held accountable at a state level. Their words and actions will generate far more potent reactions now.

Who's going to hold them accountable? The U.N.? I doubt it, just look what they've done about Iran. Nothing! The U.S.? I don't think our Politicians have the backbone for it. Israel? I am not sure if they have the spine for it anymore either. When I read articles from Jewish sites I get the impression that they are a war-weary people.

I bet Hamas is going to follow in Iran's footsteps by simultaneously saying that they do not hate Jews but that the creation of the state of Israel was an unjust act by the U.N.. I believe it was Ahmadinejad who said that the European powers should have given Jews land from Europe and not the Middle East. Taking this position would allow them to present a somewhat legitimate face to outsiders while maintaining their stance against Israel.

Huh? I consider myself a born again Christian, and I don't think Jimmy Carter is anything like Jesus. Granted, there may be some BAC's in liberal areas that try to make this connection, but most I know would not.

Maybe so; maybe not. One way or another, I'm sure we'll find out. BTW, as a general principle, I never count on the UN doing anything useful these days.

If it was 200 years ago Jimmy Carter would be getting eaten by bears. Teddy on the other hand...

History may think him a good man, but he was a terrible president.

We went from Carter to Reagan, and then four years after "The Great Communicator" we went to "The Great Fornicator." Just shows you how far the political pendulum can swing in a short time.

Let's hope we don't have a President Hillary to make Carter look good by comparison.
