OK so I went to a gun show.

Gunshows are decent. You just gotta remember. 2/3 of those massively overpriced guns...They would be like 1/4 of my table. Guns they don't really want to let go of, but if someone's stupid enough to pay it :D

Gunshow deals:
Model 13-1, nearly perfect $300 out the door (we bought the Ahrends grips later.)

Spotless Ruger Security Six, $350 OTD:

Speed Six, also $350

C'mon guys, don't be so cynical. It's the middle of the winter, football's over, the baby's crying, there's nothing to do on the weekend and your buddy calls and wants to know if you want to go to a gun show. Of course you do! Now I've attended literally hundreds of gun shows over the past five decades and I'll be the first to admit, they aren't what they used to be; not by a long shot. But, hey, there are guns laying on the tables, along with gun-related trinkets and you're rubbing shoulders with like-minded people.

Yeah, I still like to go to a gun show. However, there's one inescapable axiom that rides along with me at darn near every show I attend: If I've got some jingle in my jeans, I never see anything I'm really interested in. But if all I have in my wallet is enough to buy breakfast and pay the entrance fee-well, I think most of you know what kind of deal I'm going to find at that show.

AMEN this. I've never gone to a gun show expecting to find a "deal." If I'm a seller, I know you just PAID to get in the door wanting to buy something. This is a sellers market. If you don't want it, move out of the way the guy behind you might. :D

I go to look at guns, and gun stuff. I might even buy some beef jerky or some jewlery for my wife if she wants it. Maybe even a beenie baby.

Where else can my wife and I find and afternoons entertainment for $8.00 each?

I like the idea of going to a gun show where it's mostly private folks. That's what I call a great gun show!

Hello Citizen Carrier:

Yeah I got teased about her name,,,
When I finally got to take her out last weekend.

One guy at the range said Stella is what he calls his TC Contender,,,
So there's the reference to that classic movie done better (or worse).

I know it might seem silly but I name all of my revolvers:

My S&W Model 36 is named Velma,,,
A good Mickey Spillane secretary kind of name.

My Colt Frontier Scout (.22 lr) is named Lucille,,,
It was my Mom's pistol and that's what she called it.

My Colt Trooper Mk III is named Raquel,,,
Big curvy wench that she is, the name just seemed appropriate.

My S&W Model 629 is named Jezebel,,,
From the lyric "If ever a devil was born, without a pair of horns"

And yes, the Metcalf Tulsa Gun Show is absolutely awesome,,,
It took me all day (over 8 hours) to hit every table and exhibit booth.

That's a Must Attend gun show for me,,,

Later my friend,,,
