OK, I'll ask. How can you determine the sex of a pistol?

Another post was about Lady J or Ladysmiths.
I checked all my handguns as well as long guns and I cannot tell for certain, if they are Ladies or Gentlemen.
I call my Glock 33 a "he" because "he" is my buddy. And my wife would no doubt be jealous if I were to say something like, "She and I went shooting this afternoon."
I turned 'em all over and checked 'em like little puppies but I just can't tell.

Lift the tail, its there!

Seriously I think this is something that has to become apparent by means other than just examination. It just grows on you. I have several guns that are still "its" which I have been using for years.

I think your G33 worked just this way. First you thought of it as your buddy. Buddys, for reasons usually caused by wives, must neccissarily be male. There it is, see? Right under the tail.

Now all the others just have to make themselves apparent through facets of thier personalities.

I tested the testosterone level on My HK
MK23 and HE tested positive for steroids...
I should have known...
I also tested my PPK .22lr and she tested clean!!!
I should have seen the signs or at least checked under the tail!!!
From now on I'll know......
I still think my .475 linebaugh may be taking major growth hormones though....
hard to get close enough to check under the tail...
Time to send him (or her??)out for stud....

I hate to say this, but most of my guns seems to be genderless and nameless. The only exception that I have is my M1A, whose name is Becky...obviously, she's a she.

I think my first gun must have been asexual. Because surely enough -- just as I thought I only had one gun, it quickly multiplied into two, and then three or four, five or six.. and now I've got a whole litter! :D

I'd have to say all of my guns are TRI-Sexual......they will TRI shooting anything once....if they like it they keep doing it...

Thats all i got to say about that...

I always thought it had something to do with barrel length. For example I have a Buntline that there is no doubt about his gender and he is dang proud of it. :o

Okay, the sex of the pistol is a different descriptor than the gender of the pistol. Sex refers to anatomical traits. Gender refers to sexual and behavioral practices.

Vehicles such as ships are always referred to as "she" and this is a gender term. The Edmund Fitzgerald was the male name of a ship refered to as a "she."

As for guns, I know there is a head (muzzle) that emerges from the hood (dust cover) of my 1911 and therefore the sex of the gun is male. My gun enjoys "drilling" targets and so I assume he has a male gender.

If you do have to check in the mag well, then the sex will most definitely be a female.

I think if an object is a fun, buddy type of gun, it's a he. If there's something seductive about it, it's a she. Reverse the sex if you're female.

H&K USPc: male
H&K G36: female

If something goes wrong with it once a month, it's female.

Flame on.

Dear Abby: My Kimber is beautiful, but she can be tempermental and very unpredictable at times. Maybe it's me. Perhaps my grip is wrong or my lubrication technique is inadequate...I just don't know. Can this relationship survive?

If I understand how it functions, it is probably a "he". If I have no clue how it functions, but is smoother and more accurate than me "he"s, it is probably a "she".

I usually refer to my Glock 19 as a "he", but I call my Kel-Tec P32 a "he" as well - as in "say 'ello to my leetle friend". My fiancee is in the habit of calling my P32 "George" for reasons unknown to me.
