It all started this morning when the time change took place, We decided that staying up all night and going to the gun show at 730am would be a fantastic idea. So we do, stop at Dunkin, get there, find out we cant go in for another 30mins. Alright, thats fine, well lets go to Meijer and screw around in there till 730 on the dot (we arrived at the grounds at 700) So I proceeded to find the small arms ammo collection and i saw this......

I was like, woah! they have lots of 380 auto, i wish i had a gun that shot 380, id buy it. then i saw this and it almost made me freak out

That says Remington UMC .45 auto 100 pack for $15.13. Lol, i was looking everywhere for a straggling box but they were out. So I bought my 2 boxes of 9mm Winchester White for $21.00 thats right $10.50 a box.... awesome!
 
Hopefully this is a sign that prices may start to trickle down. Ammo doesn't really expire so I don't see the need for Meijer to push it off the shelf....unless they're planning on carrying a smaller inventory. I sure wouldn't speculate Meijer to discontinue carrying ammo, either.

Nevertheless, that's a steal these days for .45ACP. Even if ammo prices drop in the near future, I don't predict seeing prices like that.

Even for 50 rounds I'd probably bite. For 100 rounds? I'd be the guy that everyone hates; I'd buy every box they had in stock.

Went the the gun show here in San Angelo Texas yesterday. .380 wolf was marked at $79.00 a box! A friend of mine bought a PPK/S yesterday at the show, and there was not ammo to be found in San Angelo other than that at the gun show. Crazy!

For $79 a box, they'd darn well better be golden bullets lovingly handloaded by a certain James Bond villain himself!
 
Well OM better stop looking at those prices or you might have a heart attack. Then will see your guns on gunbroker and your other gear on EHAM

Hate to hear prices are that bad back in my hometown, but up here in North TX arent any better. Have to usually drive across the border into OK to get any ammo...
 
That Meijer, boy I tell ya, it is a good place to go, some sell some dont, but there is always a good inventory for me. At the gun show all i saw was the 100 packs with "vary scarce" strapped to them, Winchester White box at that, I was like.... "Dude, they sell that right down the street for $5 less" hahahha
 
I was with a friend at Dicks Sporting goods once, he was buying a case of 9mm because they were slightly on sale (this is about 2 years back) for 9 bucks a box. The cashier rang up the case:

"9.45 please"

My friend ran back upstairs and got the last 2 cases of ammo they had and ended up walking out with 3 cases of 9mm for less than 30 bucks!
 
Uhhh that's stealing

Put yourself in the shoes of that min. wage cashier when they had to balance their till that night.
Your "friend" is a thief, pure and simple.
