Odd High Power

2. Nothing marked on left side of slide where FN would have their information.

Not unusual and very common with Browning imported HP's.
Ibmikey Dogtown how about some photos of the slide markings and blank side also on your pistols to compare. Thanks

To be more precise I should have written that its not unusual and very common to not have "FN" (or Fabrique Nationale) marked on a Browning imported HP. I didn't mean to imply that the left side being blank is common.......because this HP DOES have rollmarks on the left side of the slide.

The sellers pics are so poorly done that I wonder what markings don't appear.

Whatever it is... it's rough.

Hi, Ibmikey, I have a coople of Webleys that never saw the foggy shores of England and a friend has a Mauser broomhandle with WAUSER on the side that was never near Oberndorf. Actually, those "Khyber Pass" (and elsewhere) Specials are interesting and would make a pretty interesting book in themselves.
I have a fun one here.

It's a DARMESd8DARMESd8DARMESd8DARMESd8DARMESd8 / Browning / Mauser C9614. (Mauser C96 styled, but mechanically closer to the Mauser 1914, and marked with complete gibberish. ;) -A bit like #3 and #4 here.)

...Came back from China with my Great Uncle after he did his time as a radio operator on C47s flying over The Hump. For a time, I suspected that it was a Khyber Pass pistol. But over the last few months, I've been leaning much more heavily toward Chinese origin (which was the original story, as well). Khyber Pass firearms, from what I've seen and read, are generally more functional and closer to the original article, than the Chinese examples that were made by people with no clue how a firearm functions or what a certain part's purpose really is.

I bring it up, because:
A) I find it interesting.
And,
B) That hand-made hunk of crap from China looks better than the Hi-Power.

Dogtown, I could not decipher the printing on the right side and would like to see a photo of what it represents. On the left side if there is printing i cannot see it but will agree there must be something there. It still befuddles me that anyone would bid over $300 for junk when there are serviceable pistols available for less than $100 more, I just got a super condition Mark II from CDI for $400.
PS I hunt pigs just East of you in Canton where my best friend lives, so far this year i have 40 to my credit. Shot several with my Mk Ii High Power that we caught in traps.
