NYPD/Bloomberg press conference points hundreds of guns at reporters

You know that, I know that.......

And, now they know that. Hundreds of guns laying on tables with their muzzles pointed in their direction, and not one fatality, injury or even a near miss. Yes, they know that a gun, by itself, is not dangerous at all - if they want to keep living in some delusional fantasy world where guns go "BLAM" all by themselves, that's just a matter of choice.

But they do not think guns go BLAM!! all by themselves (except for the latest Mothers Against group, that is pressuring Starbucks with the specter of accidental discharges).

They do seem to think that guns, as talismans, create urges by their owners to use them in improper ways.

But they do not think guns go BLAM!! all by themselves

Oh, plenty of them do believe this - seems crazy, but its true.

They do seem to think that guns, as talismans, create urges by their owners to use them in improper ways.

I do agree that there is a large group of antis that subscribe to this view.

"But they do not think guns go BLAM!! all by themselves..."

They don't?

Really?

Are you sure?

I have it on the BEST authority from a friend of mine (a pediatrician) that a gun in the house will, of its own accord, slaughter everyone in the household.

AK bolts don't lock to the rear. Remember the Sandy Hook video of the cop trying to lock back the SAIGA shotgun and he couldn't figure out how to do it? He finally just gave up.

Open bolt designs(Like the TEC9s and Ingrams, MAC-10 knockoffs, etc), fire from an open bolt meaning to cock them you pull the bolt to the rear where they engage the sear and don't go forward until you pull the trigger. In fact, most have a firing pin that is actually milled from the front face of the bolt face and as the bolt travels forward striping a round from the mag, and seating the round into the chamber, the firing pin strikes the primer almost simultaneously and starts the bolt back toward the rear to repeat the cycle.

Open bolt designs were specifically created for machine pistols and an open bolt design on a semi-automatic weapon are actually an unnatural modification of the original design principle.

"A loaded gun, by itself sitting on a table, is about as dangerous as a car parked in a garage."
I heard Bloomberg saying that just the other day.

I never listen to anything Bloomberg says, and don't go around quoting him. But, is there anything factually wrong with the above statement? Even Bloomberg can't be wrong 100% of the time.
