I AM GOING TO F-ING CRY ! :(

Now I find out there is a 5 round limit to rifle and shotgun magazines aka ammo feeding devices...

New York City can KISS MY ... ARGGGGHHH !

Texas is looking more apealing every day huh:D...But I agree w/ intruder...PA is definitely not a bad choice...Lots of big deer there too...

Seriously, I was just jerking the chain on my previous comment...I'm not one of those whack-o's you see on the news...at least not yet...;)

you have no idea how pissed off I am .... I went to a local gunshop today and they told me NOTHING SEMI AUTO ALLOWED, and I can only have bolt action.

the ignorance of some people.

I just dont wanna leave NYC. I hate commuting.

CT, NJ, Westchester, Nassau, Suffolk... all better choices than where you are now and far less likely to institute a 100% ban and confiscation than NYC.

Learn to commute and catch up on your reading.

Eh, Texas is not as free as people think it is. You still have to qualify for your CCW. Here in NH, you only need to not be a criminal. $10 and you're good.

To the OP, PA is better, yes. And if you like the northeast, VT, NH and ME are still sane places to live. :)

I like going in a gun store and seeing rows of EBRs, a case of silencers, several AOWs like shorty Saiga 12s , and all the hi-cap mags you can carry.

Hi all, it been a few months, and I had to get rid of my ruger 10/22 becuase they wouldnt register it.

So any of you know of any cool rifles great for NYC ? Something legal for NYC.. or if you know of a good dealer IN Nyc please let me know, thank you !

Ruger 10/22

They wouldn't register Ruger 10/22? Where did you buy it from? I know this NYC dealer who sells Ruger 10/22s and it's completely legal. I think that if you'd buy a weapon out of town processors will flag it for review and wouldn't register it if it raises any suspicions. Stick with the NYC based dealers. Maybe this is just my experience but let me know about yours...

I think earlier you had mentioned "pump action AR" - you might like the Remington 7615. Pump action in several configurations, including pistol grip that should be legal, shorter barrel lengths, takes AR mags which means you MAY be able to get hi-cap if NYC has a grandfather clause like the rest of the state, cheap price. I would look for the one with tactical ghost sights, as the typical 7600 rear is fairly narrow (IMHO). Handy rifle that functions well.

I live a few minutes away from the NYC rifle/shotgun licensing division.....

I too am waiting for my permits to be approved and mailed to me.

I know all too well that living in NYC sucks ass big time. I too am working on leaving and heading down to Texas once my company opens up an office down there...

I'd say plus one on the .357 Lever Gun and, hey, don't knock the Pardner single shot shotgun, okay? It unloads itself as you break t down/cock it and if you thumb the hammer back at the same time, slip in a new shell and lock it up, it's like a split second reload. A bullet band to hold six more shells on the buttstock helps.

p.s. Try living in NJ, we have laws almost as equally draconian. But we get fifteen round mags. I just had a real problem getting a NJ compliant Bushmaster AR, too. :barf:

357 levers are nice and fun....

Shootem down.... by the way....

You know there is a lot more world out there than NYC.... they even have jobs in those 'other places'. I bet you would even be shocked to learn that it cost a lot less to live in those places....

Never let your 'training' lock you on to one road......

Semi-auto in NYC

So after months of research and visits to NYC gun dealers the list of semi-auto rifles are narrowed down to this:

Browning BAR
Ruger 10/22
Mini-14/30

Everything else would be pretty much illegal I think. Saiga was deemed illegal because of protruding magazine, I really thought I was about to pull off a purchase of that. No such luck. Looking hard into Mini-14 or mini-30, would love to have something with 7.62 knockdown power in semi-auto, too bad minis are inferior to Saigas which are half the price.

So a Saiga is illegal, but you can have a Mini-30 or -14?? The mini's have a protruding magazine, so I wonder why there's a problem with a Saiga having one.

Mini's 5 round magazine is not protruding. It's flush with the stock. At least the one I saw at the dealer was set up like that.

Oh, ok, well that makes sense then why it's OK for NYC.

I hate NY gun laws, but I would hate to have to deal with NYC gun laws even more:barf:.
